He's only caught a total of 20 passes at the D1 and NFL level combined. Receiving is clearly not his strong suit.

He's only been allowed to participate in 14 NFL regular season games.  He's been targeted 6 times in those games.  He's caught every one of those targets.

The only thing you can ask him to do is to catch the one's that are thrown to him.

Total YAC is really misleading in this case. It heavily favors RBs because of the types of passes there catching. Look at his number of receptions compared to the other RBs on the list. If there was a way to filter by average YAC per reception, he'd probably be pretty far down the rankings.

No disagreement. I'm just saying that if he was a good receiver I have to imagine someone at Auburn would've figured t out. God knows Shula probably wouldn't.

I see you have never seen Gus Malzahn call plays.

In 2013, Auburn starting RB Tre Mason caught 12 passes in 14 games.

In 2014, Auburn starting RB Cameron Artis-Payne caught 13 passes in 13 games.

Gus Malzahn likes his RBs to run the ball up the middle.

Gus Malzahn runs the ball up the middle on 1st down about 95% of the time.

Throwing the ball to the RB rarely crosses Gus Malzahn's mind.

Sound familiar?

What in the fug...

Most teams try to actually insert a pass catching RB on passing downs, we plan on sitting our best receiving RB and insert our backup power RB.

This staff is just too damn stupid to be helped.

I think that replacing CMC with CAP on passing downs, has more to do with pass protection than pass reception...
