11-5 or fire Rivera

First off, i want to start by saying I expected a 6-3 record at this point in the season. I just expected losses to ATL, NE, and TB heading into the season. Most people might agree those 3 teams were supposed to be much better than current.

So, we are 6-3 with our defense having faced the following QB's:

1. Brady

2. Wentz

3. Brees

4. Ryan

5. Tyrod

6. Stafford

I won't list the 2 non-QBs from SF and CHI. The point is, against the top QBs in the league, the defense has been pretty darned great.

With games upcoming against:

1. Jay Cutler or Matt Moore

2. Josh McCown

3. Case Keenum or Sam Bradford

4. Brett Hundley

5. Jameis or Ryan Fitzpatrick

6. Brees

7. Ryan

There is zero excuse if this team can't win a minimum of those first 5 games with the defense playing this way.

I can understand getting beat by Ryan and Brees at the end, but 11-5 should be the bare minimum from this point out, or Rivera should be fired. Those QB situations are dumpster fires. And if you show up big and beat New Orleans to go 12-4, you likely have a #3 seed and home game in round 1 against the Rams. Rivera must make sure the team is prepared, motivated, and the coaching staff too. Keep leaning on McSamuel in both the running and passing games, as clearly those 2 guys can move the chains. Keep the defense healthy, rested,  and playing at a high level against these scrub QBs, and there's no reason not to EXPECT 11 wins at a minimum. Anything less, and Ron is Gone!

We lost to a team with Mitch Trubisky completing 4 passes. Don't put anything past Rivera/Shula

I still can't believe that. New Orleans kicked our ass and the eagles are damn good so I can accept those two losses. The bears one felt like 3 losses

Has any team ever fired a coach after an 11-5, 2 years removed from a Super Bowl appearance and MVP quarterback season?

im all about firing Rivera and Shula, but if we got a chance to get hot and take it all, then I'd rather see it.

now if we go 11-5 and get blown out our first playoff game that would suck,... but I just don't see it.

    • What's truly ironic is the only people spamming that word around here have very little if anything to say about the other majorly contributing players on our roster who have fueled these recent Panthers wins. Particularly Rico Dowdle. But casuals.....🙄
    • I've never said that BY couldn't be replaced. I don't think he has the strongest arm in the league.  Everyone complains about how many yards he threw for on a very windy day.  Sure, we relied on the running game and the team that launched bombs lost partially due to the wind.   Love should have had 2 picks because of the wind.  What also bothers me is all those haters have no solution.  There isn't one QB in the draft or even one QB free agent that is going to resolve this issue.  We can sit here and bitch and moan about how many yards BY has thrown for but won't acknowledge that he's the QB of record for our last 4 wins. Andy Dalton has a big arm but we didn't get close to winning with him. Running the ball and defense has always been the key to success in the NFL.  I don't care if you have the best QB in the game, you're going to struggle without it.  As great as Mahomes is, even most analyst say they lack a running game to go deep in the playoffs. What I want in reply is.  What's your solution that is 100%, no questions about it, better than Young, Name me one QB that is available or will be available to beat out Young.
