The NFL is salivating at this possibility

With the Panthers squaring off against the Packers this weekend, it would be extremely beneficial for the NFL for the Packers to win. This would setup a line of premier matchups over the final weeks.

If the Packers beat the Panthers they face off against the Lions and Vikings in the following weeks. Which means Playoffs hypothetically start now. Which would only help drive viewership.

A Panthers loss would also make the @ATL Wk17 matchup  a savory sweet sensation of a game and would drive ratings.

My question: Can we expect a well ref'd game Sunday?

opinions?

yep the NFL's golden boy QB getting cleared to return from an injury juuuust in time to spur a cinderella run to the playoffs.  it's a pro wrestling style story line so i'm expecting pro wrestling style officiating.  the refs might even reflexively flag the pre-game handshake at midfield.

it's also a home game coming off something of an upset win and it's against an opponent with what should be a number of exploitable weaknesses on paper.  knowing ron's propensity to play down to his opponents that doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either.

1 hour ago, Joe the Show said:

Not as much as Joe Buck and Troy aikman will be salivating on Aaron Rodgers dong as soon as he completes one pass.  I'll be watching this game on mute.

"rodgers rolling out... still rolling, slips a tackle...  rodgers!  rodgers with an absolute laser!"

"yeah that's what you expect out of aaron rodgers- that's why he's one of the best in the game and frankly why so many people believe this packer team is in position to go on a run and make the playoffs.  carolina looks to be in trouble.  this isn't what you want to see if you're a panthers fan."

"packer fans appreciate it and are making noise here in charlotte.  2nd and 9 from the green bay 20, 14 minutes to go in the first... "

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
