I mean, he wasn't wrong about calling them the North Carolina Panthers. I have been to sports bars in Rock Hill, SC that people were openly rooting against the Panthers and lived in Columbia, SC for a few months during an NFL season where I only saw one other Panthers fan during my time going to sports bars there. In fact, the most I ever saw anyone cheer at an NFL game while I was there was when that bum Connor Shaw started his first game. It was a joke. South Carolina does not support the Panthers.

Respectfully disagree about the lack of SC support. I travel all over the state and know/met many Panther fans. Yes you do have a large amount of Dallas/Pitt/GB fans. But as we all know that's nationwide.

You can find plenty of fans openly rooting for other teams in the middle of Charlotte too. Cowboy fans, Steeler fans, Redskin fans, etc.

I live in SC and work in Charlotte.  I see plenty of Panthers support where I live, equal to that I see anywhere else. Still holds true when I go further south within the state (wife's relatives live near Columbia).

There are a lot of transplants in both areas.  That's where all the other team crap comes from.

The people in Rock Hill were locals. I distinctively remember it because it was the 2016 game versus the Broncos and I was literally the only person not rooting for Peyton Manning. I wanted to kick every one of their sorry asses.

I am not saying there is NO support but damn sure not much from the extended periods of time I have spent down there.

Local doesn't necessarily mean native.

sure it does.  Many in SC are closer to Charlotte than lots of places in NC.   Lot of good fans in SC.

Would be cool if every once in a while the Panthers played in SC as a show of support. Would definitely be unconventional for an NFL team to do so though.

Training camp is already in SC.

But I would wager a sale of the team ends that ritual.  Which stinks for SC fans.

Interesting question.

Will the team continue its relationship with Wofford?

I don't see why they would.  That was purely a Richardson thing.  Very few NFL teams do such a thing anymore.
