Cheer leading is a PT job with relatively low pay. Most of those women are professionals in other fields. I can completely accept that she's highly capable. What I find hard to accept is that she wasn't an enabler. It'd be difficult to secure such a high profile position of power in the Panthers back office, as it has been run by Jerry, without being complicit in what's been going on.

Oh she definitely was. No doubt about it.

I really don't care though. She's just day-to-day manager now and probably won't be with the organization in a few months. And honestly her job probably won't be much different than before, Richardson probably isn't in..the best of mental health and she was his personal assistant. This move has little bearing on our season.

For those saying she was an enabler...what exactly should she have done?  Only taken a job where women aren't treated horribly?  Because speaking from experience, those don't exist.  She couldn't have gone to the cops.  As far as I know, nothing that was done was illegal.  As horrible as it was, this is not a Sandusky situation.  And I doubt anything she could have done anything that would've stopped it.  She just would've gotten fired & probably had her name smeared.  Just my two cents.

I saw her name mentioned in the SI article as someone whom Richardson was very close with.

"During his tenure as Panthers owner, Richardson has, outwardly anyway, been a champion of diversity. Cam Newton, the Panthers’ African-American quarterback, is the spindle on which the entire team is wound. The Panthers have a Hispanic head coach, Ron Rivera, who took over for John Fox in 2011. A decade ago, Tina Becker was the team’s manager of cheerleader and mascot programs. Steadily promoted, she is now the de facto team president, a member of Richardson’s inner circle who represented the Panthers at October’s NFL owners’ meetings."

That's where I saw that.  Knew I remembered it from somewhere.

LMAO... manager of cheerleading and mascots and now if head of the Panthers??  Talk about under-qualified...

She had a lot of other jobs between those two assignments.

To be clear though, shes running the non-football side of the Panthers.  Hurney is still in charge of anything football related.

Plenty of people are speaking up now. Someone had to do it sometime. Maybe if people hadn't told themselves to just go along to get along for so long, this would have happened a long time ago.

You either contribute toward changing a culture or reinforcing it.
