Must Win Game

NAS

Recommended Posts

I know this will sound cliché but this game vs Tampa Bay is a must win.  We win and we’re guaranteed a playoff spot. If we lose (any given Sunday), then we have to go on the road to Atlanta and instead of fighting for the NFC South title, we wouls be fighting for our playoff lives.  I do worry about the team’s focus after the Richardson announcement, that they’re not underestimating the Bucs and looking ahead to the Falcons.  What say you? Am I too nervous?

I guess I need to study the tiebreakers but don't we clinch a spot if Dallas wins?  We have the the head to head over the Lions and would win a tie breaker vs Dallas if we lose out?

Seattle would screw us I think if they won out and we lose out

I believe I read the Dallas game would have to end in a tie.

That wouldn't be Seattle screwing us. That'd be us screwing ourselves.

just looked again, yeah, Dallas would beat us in a 10-6 tie just like Seattle.  I had their conference wins wrong.   Seattle would beat us too in a 10-6 tie.   Detroit wouldn't.

If we can't beat the Bucs at home, we don't deserve the playoffs anyway tbh I just hope we don't have "one of those games" at this point in the season. But December Cam seems to always be extra focused. Not to mention he is going to want to send JR off in style with a win.

Cam is also 22-7 in December.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
