Diddy's Panther themed helicopter...

Just now, GOOGLE JIM BOB COOTER said:

do you think a belk and/or levine ownership would be a move in the right direction? seems like that's where this is headed and i can't imagine that would be anything but an extension of the richardson era

i don't know enough about them or anyone, tbh. i don't think anyone really knows how it will shake out. i'm not going to get worked up about any potential owners. we're never going to find anything close to the perfect owner. we're never going to find one that fixes all our problems organizationally, especially without creating new ones.

my hope is that whoever it is doesn't meddle in the processes like JR started doing a few years ago. or at least meddling more anyways. i also hope it's someone with a more open mind who will let games get more hyped up, not try to let politics interfere with how they view their players or run the organization. and little/big things like put a panther on the middle of the field.

tbh, the only thing i care about is the panthers winning games and getting multiple lombardis. all this extra poo that has gone on this year is more annoying than anything. it's been a rough couple years and JR getting more involved made it worse. i don't care who it is as long as they aren't trying to make a statement one way or the other with the decisions they make.

life's got enough poo going on without the game, which is supposed to be an enjoyable escape from all of it, tracking it in.

that's one of the reason i love cam so much. the dude is at his best when he's just having fun. just try to create/not hold back things that make it fun for as many as people as possible.

Not sure if it’s been said as I didn’t read all 8 pages of posts, but that is the minority owner helicopter from the guy in Rocky Mount (not 100% on his exact location).  The helicopter used to be housed in Kinston and managed by a private airline group.

I'd have no major issue with Diddy as owner as far as his background and public persona are concerned; and certainly not due to the color of his skin. However, the way he has approached the prospect of buying the team does concern me a bit.

I'm not one of those "NO KAEPERNICK!" fans (far from it) and actually think he'd be a great signing as Cam's backup. However, the fact that Diddy seems so intent on making Kaepernick a topic of conversation when discussing buying the team concerns me because it indicates that, perhaps, Diddy's primary motivation for wanting to own the Panthers is to make some grand political statement rather than because he loves the game and is willing to do whatever it takes as owner to ensure we are a successful franchise on and off the field.

I'm not saying he doesn't intend to be (or wouldn't be) that kind of owner, but the way he's gone about approaching this so far leaves me with plenty of doubt.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
