Enjoy the rest of the season, because the Panthers will probably be terrible next year.

It’s no secret, the Panthers have been more lucky than good this season. Let’s start with a crucial drop by Bills WR Zay Jones in Week 2 at the end of the game. Lucky penalties at the end of the game against the Patriots to give the Panthers a first down on the final drive of the game. A windy day at Tampa In the first game leads to an off day for Jameis Winston, despite having wide open receivers all game. A critical drop by Julio Jones against Atlanta hands the Panthers a win. Panthers get to face a rusty and injured Aaron Rodgers, who still almost beats them. Cam Newton fumbles a snap at the end of the game against the Bucs and still scores a TD.

The ball has just bounced the Panthers way this season more often than not. In 2016, luck seemed to be against the Panthers. With a black cat as a mascot, luck seems to be a fickle mistress for this team. So let’s all appreciate this season, because 2018 will most likely be rough when the luck turns around again.

Congrats buddy !! You have the dumbest post of the year . Merry Christmas

Yea, a post about how lucky this team has been this year is so dumb....this is not a good team, it’s a lucky team. Next year, like 2016, is probably going to be a rough season. Add on the Jerry Richardson situation and the sale of the team and who the hell knows where this team will be in a year. We have to appreciate this season even more because of all the bounces the Panthers got this season because that pendulum is about to swing back, hard.

Claiming luck is why football teams win is pathetic, and shows a surprise lack of understanding of the game. Good day with your miserable comprehension.

well considering our offense should be considerably better with a healthy samuel back alongside cmc with more experience and whatever draft picks/fa acquisitions we'll likely add, i could argue we'd still be competitive.

you arent accounting for injuries. There's always multiple injuries every season , if the last 2 years have taught you anything , its that you are very very very lucky to have all your starters healthy for a full season

    • in starts, he has played better, been more efficient and outproduced Bryce by virtually every statistical metric that exists in 2025.  And has the 2 head to heads over Carolina.  I mean, your jaw should hit the floor.  But not for the reason you are implying.  That freaking stings.  Denying these realities isn't going to help the Panthers build a better team going forward.
    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
