As much as I want to be excited about Mike Shula finally being shown the door, I haven't even been able to smile.  As Panther nation was learning about Shula, I was receiving news that devastated the family.   My niece above, is now in a battle for her life as she was diagnosed with brain cancer.  I dont have kids of my own.  My nieces and nephews have been my kids for so long.  I can not even imagine losing one to cancer.

Life seemed as if everything was falling into place for Amanda and her husband Josh. Just passing their 3 year mark as a married couple, they recently moved into their new home, and just began settling well in their new jobs. If you know Amanda she was overwhelmed with joy and happiness. It was about a week away from Thanksgiving, Amanda had gotten in a very bad car accident on her way home from work. Thankfully she walked away with only a few minor scratches and what we thought may have been a minor concussion. This was the first moment we God was with her. Many never look at a car accident and say thank you Lord Jesus but I can tell you that there isn’t a person in our family that doesn’t thank God for bringing this car accident about. Shortly after her car accident Amanda began to act and seem different and at the time we all thought it was the concussion, but Amanda insisted she was ok.

In early December Amanda went to the emergency room for a MRI and the doctor informed her that she didn’t have a concussion but a tumor located in the brain over her optic nerve with an unknown mass attached to it. As we sat in disbelief and a loss for words, the Lord stood by her and calmed her soul.

The past few weeks Amanda has been at home on steroids, trying to shrink the tumor so that the process for surgery would be easier. The tumor had been affecting Amanda’s vision making it very blurry. While at home she began to lose her communication skills, portions of her memory and was slowly losing her vision.

Friday January 5th Amanda was at CMC Main for a rescan on her tumor, when reading the scan they saw that a blood clot had formed in the sinus gland and so she was admitted to the ICU.

After her scans the Doctor believed that the best option for her would be to run a biopsy on the tumor and the unknown mass. This morning, the news we never wanted to hear fell on our ears as the Doctor informed us that their preliminary findings were that the tumor is cancerous. With this information we now know that this will be a long road to recovery for Amanda. There are still so many things we are unsure about but as of right now we are taking each day at a time.

As I sit with so many emotions coming over me, one thing I cling to as I grasp for words, “Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Amanda being a believer in Christ has a strong hope and trust in the sovereign and healing power of Jesus! As we trust in God for strength and comfort during this time, we also are hopeful that God will use this testimony of Amanda to sanctify those in Christ, lead other to the saving power of Jesus Christ, and encourage so many others to walk faithfully with God and see Him as gloriously worthy of their life!

    • I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying
    • I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.
    • Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
