Buffalo's 3rd for Bryant. Essentially turns it into a three way trade between Pittsburgh, Carolina and Buffalo. We get Bryant, Pittsburgh gets a 3rd and Buffalo gets KB. If we had done it at the deadline, we might still be playing.

I was never the world's biggest fan of Cowher, honestly.

The Steelers have arguably the best personnel machine in the NFL.  That helps their head coaches out a lot.

Neither Tomlin nor Cowher are great.

The Steelers have the FO/Ownership/personnel connections to put almost anyone out there in that division and do well.

Cowher has a QB issue for most of his tenure as the Steelers HC, they get Big Ben and he finally wins a super bowl. That’s not a coincidence.

with that said Cowher is my favorite HC of the last 20 years in the NFL. Dude really could have won many more SB’s if he just stuck it out.

I think Cowher is one of those guys that people remember as being better than he actually was because he was charismatic and entertaining. 

Not that he isn't a good coach.  He  clearly was. I just don't think he's quite as good as people remember.

I thought he was awesome at the time and was sad that he retired. But hey that’s just me.

Until he finally won that SB, Cowher was Andy Reid when he was with the Eagles. Any other team would've fired him around the turn of the millennium.

      Yep, like I said, I don't mind guaranteeing them money, but make the contracts smaller amounts in order to minimize cap implications. I don't know about "half," the actual amounts, whether more or less than half, would have to be determined by the NFL and NFLPA (which will probably be highly contentious, if not "impossible").  I'm just for whatever leads to the best product on the field while also unaffecting my wallet. As an aside, the NFL owners are greedy bastards in my estimation. They're trying to keep a larger portion of the pie, but players' agents are greedy as well, and they've sewn seeds of greed among the players. It's not all their fault; we all know what our society has evolved into, but the NFL wants a bigger piece of our smaller pocketbooks and refuses to "negotiate" with us (that's why we don't have cheaper and more reasonable à la carte options to view games that they're gradually trying to migrate to paid TV), so fu<k 'em. And then on top of that we have guys trying to water down the product even more by feeding greed. Change the way things are done so that we can at least see players prove themselves on the field without throwing wrenches into the engine that pays guys that have proven they can play on a pro level.
