Too many "stars" in the locker room. Tomlin's a hell of a coach and if he ends up leaving Pittsburgh, I hope we'd take a swing at getting him here.

I can't see him taking anything less than a head coaching job.

But even if he did, these days Rivera doesn't wanna hire anyone he doesn't already know.  And to be honest, do you really see he and Rivera working well together?

This really is a weakness of Rivera, that he can only work with coaches he  has worked with before (or that he inherited here).

I'm ok with his lack of emotion on the sideline but position coaches need to have that fire.  And it seems he is reluctant to hire anyone with a more dominant personality than his own  (which rules out everybody).

They truly need to fire Tomlin, dude is a joke of a head coach. He's gotta go if they want to take the next step, Ben's not gonna be around forever, they really only have 1 maybe 2 more years left to win a SB w/Ben.

Yes fire your Super Bowl winning head coach that has more playoff wins than any other active head coach except one.

This is the Steelers we're talking about, not the Panthers.  They have a higher standard.

But beyond that, with the stuff they're reporting, he may not have lost the locker room but he's definitely lost some respect.  When you make a rule and not just players but coaches ignore it, that's not good.

It's also not good when your star RB blows off practice before the most important game of the year and nothing happens.  Meanwhile your starting safety does something dumb and you respond with basically "not my problem".

Lack of discipline always falls on the head coach.  No getting around that.

Actually, if Tomlin were free, I'd take him over Rivera. And I like Rivera, a lot. I think Tomlin's one of the best coaches in the game right now and an upgrade over Rivera, who I think is a pretty darned good, but not great, coach.

Even after the reports of what's going on there now?

A tough talking guy who doesn't back it up can lose respect really fast.

We've got reports of locker room unrest. Weigh it versus on-field results in his career. In the last season he's coached with Bell holding out, Martavis Bryant pitching fits over not enough attention, the Big Ben retiring fuss that started last off season, and James Harrison's man-o-pause. Maybe the guy's just tired of fighting it. Too many divas becomes too much bother to fight it.

Sounds to me like they have way too many super egos in that locker room. It might be time to disband the Killer B's or whatever, re-establish the culture in the franchise.

They have to sell jerseys. won't happen.

This is hilarious. Mel Blount once sued Chuck Noll for $5M during a season in the middle of their dynasty.. They went on to win the next two SBs. The Steelers don’t let go of a good thing on a knee-jerk reaction. Tomlin isn’t going anywhere.

Can we package all the Observer hacks and trade for him? I’ll even throw in a bag of Skittles to double the value.

It's now been found that all Skittles taste the same. It's the color and smell that has people thinking they are different flavors. Would that affect the trade?
