Punishment coming soon

Cookie Lyon

a fine for what? he was poked in the eye and purposely went down at the request of his staff to give anderson some reps b/c it was 3rd down in a pretty crucial moment of the game.

granted he was kneed in the helmet too, but that happens all the time in the NFL. The grimace he made and the squinting of the eyes was from the poke, not from the knee to the head, and if you watch the replay, it's so obvious.

I still don't think anything comes of it.

They might wag a finger and call us naughty, but I don't think we'll get any real punishment. If we do, I doubt it's more than a fine.

If it's more than a fine that's complete bullsh*t. Seahawks, who are repeat offenders with several different instances in different years of breaking protocol with practicing and concussions, just got a $100,000 fine this year for handling Wilson's protocol improperly. Should be nothing but worst case is likely a fine which really doesn't matter.

And please change the thread title @Cookie Lyon . Doesn't say we're getting punished, just that we'll find out whether we are or not soon.

Didn’t a similar thing happen to matt ryan in their game against the Rams? Didn’t a qb convulse on the ground this year, clearly got knocked out and had a concussion...and he stayed in the game. Yet nothing happens to these teams, but bc is Cam and the Panthers, we get punished.

Side note; just saw Bortles say “f@&$ y’all” and give double bird on ESPN. The analyst after word thought it was great and laughed. Imiagine if Cam did that for a second. That’s what makes me so annoyed, the bias against cam is unreal.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the Texans QB that was convulsing in the end zone, and still played briefly afterward.

Edit. Yeah it was Tom Savage.

Had they pulled Cam from the game and sent him to the locker room only to have him say, "I only got gouged in the eye by my own helmet and I could have gone back in" the first two posters here would have been up in arms about how they had an agenda for keeping Cam off the field.

Sheesh. Let it go. Take Cam's word for it, if nothing else.

You can use the quote button.

But I'm reminded you're the guy who still questions his "intangibles" :eyeroll:

    • Most EVs are in the 90+ e-MPG meaning some measurement house somewhere compares the EV to a similar ICE model and works out how much is costs to charge (on average) versus fill up as a point of comparison. Talking long term, in the hundreds of thousands of miles?  No clue.  Some early signs are that EV batteries maintain 80% charge over 400k miles.  So there's that.   The challenge and charm of an ICE vehicle is being able to park it under a tree, get your jack stands out and tinker with your engine.  There's just not that same level of complexity in an EV.  I saw someone estimate there are 200 or so moving parts in an EV, and 2000 in an ICE vehicle.  I'm not a part counter so I can't really speak to that. I think that the EV is more the future than any type of combustion engine.  Those will still be around in specific purposes, but for most people - an EV will be the superior option in terms of efficiency.  I say that as someone who loves stupid horsepower numbers out of turbo 4 bangers and inline 6s...  I am one of those tinkers when I can be. A bigger issue for EVs is going to be the ownership versus lease.  Right now, there are INSANE leases on EVs, which is great, but what do you have at the end of that lease?  Nada, maybe some equity if you're lucky.  Where as I'm almost done paying for my car, and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off (or my son wrecks it when he starts to drive).  Will EV makers do the smartphone thing and build in planned obsolesce?  Stop updating software?  I love the tech in EVs, and I think getting more cars and trucks off the road is a good thing.  But I am still just a little concerned.  Capitalism has gotten far too extractive.
