DL Coach Eric Washington Was Given A New Contract 2 Weeks Ago And Will Be The New Defensive Coordinator

Nothing against Washington, but this just seems like Rivera being afraid to bring in any outside candidates that could possibly warm his seat in the event of another losing season. Now Ron has a possible scapegoat, and someone who won't threaten his own job security. Win/win for him.

Washington has been under the shadows for years.  He deserves this.  The D-line has been a strength on the D for years now. He has developed UDFA and turned KK into a superstar.

He's a fiery leader.  And a Navy vet.  I'm thrilled we could keep him.

Uh...so you're not familiar with history is all your post shows and TheRed still has you...you are failing hard when TheRed has you. Rivera worked under Norv and Rivera has been wanting Norv this whole time and a 65yo is no threat to Riveras HC job....so wtf are you on about?

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
