Choose a backup from the Vikings

Mike Zimmer has been stated to be "noncommittal" regarding current starter Case Keenum returning to the Vikings next year. In point of fact, all of the Vikings top three quarterbacks (Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater) are set to be unrestricted free agents.

Current Panthers backup QB Derek Anderson is also a free agent.

Two of the three Vikings (Bridgewater and Bradford) worked directly with Panthers OC Norv Turner while he was in Minnesota and would be familiar with his system. Keenum didn't arrive until after Norv was already gone, but he's played in similar offenses and had the most success of the three. Anderson has never worked under Turner, but did spend two years with Rob Chudzinski as his OC, so he has worked under Turner's system.

So if it were up to you, would you re-sign Anderson to be Cam Newton's backup again or go after one of the Vikings guys?

If the latter, which one and why?

Keenum is gonna get paid better than backup money somewhere so no.  Bradford is brittle and not our type of QB (would have to change the playbook too drastically from Cam’s playbook, at least Anderson is also a “gunslinger”) so no.  Bridgewater would be similar to Bradford in that last respect, but at least he’s still young, so maybe? If he’d take backup money I wouldn’t be opposed.

Teddy. Mobility, decent but not great arm. Still an unfinished product so likely higher ceiling than Keenum or Bradford. I figured Keenum would eventually turn back in to a pumpkin and he did. He'd be a great backup but thinks of himself as a starter now and he will get starter money from someone. I've never liked Bradford's game and he is made of porcelain.

All 3 of them want to start and could make a decent case as a starter, or bridge option for teams drafting young guys. None are realistic options for us as a backup. End of story.

You really think somebody outside of the Vikings is gonna offer Sam Bradford or Teddy Bridgewater a starting job?

I wouldn't quite say that. Sam Bradford has been fragile his whole career and Teddy hasn't thrown a pass in 2 years. It's likely for Bradford and Keenum to probably return but not all three. I think Teddy would be a good backup and Bradford would too for Cam. Let's face it Derek Anderson is terrible now so we have to take care of that position you just never know what will happen see Eagles.

There are multiple teams that would offer one of them a MUCH better chance at one than us...

Cardinals, Redskins if Cousins walks, Bills, Jets, Jaguars, Browns, Broncos, and many others who have QBs that they won’t flat out replace but whose starting jobs are not even close to 100% guaranteed like Cam’s is.

Bradford's actually a pretty top tier deep passer despite leading the league in short throws in 2016. He's the one that fits the bill the most when considering Norv's history.

Bradford and Keenum are questionable fits imo. Keenum looks far more comfortable in the offense he currently is, and Bridgewater never fit Norv's scheme at all.

Bradford should be a starter in the NFL, and if we get him as a backup it's highway robbery.

And who are picking in a good quarterback draft. But even if they don't take one in the draft, several of the teams you've named here wouldn't find Bridgewater or Bradford a significant upgrade, especially given that both have shown they're not durable enough to make it through a full season.

Now, I do believe one of the two could very well be a starter next year, but for the Vikings.  Zimmer doesn't seem to care for Keenum and may just be being stubborn because they gave up a first for Bradford.
