He's been suspect since Norman left but if Adams outplayed Coleman why wouldn't you keep the cheaper option around with more NFL experience to be the veteran presence.

And also if you think Ryan bounces back from the neck injury and will be healthy you keep him but if not you might need to cut bait early. Wasn't it his man that threw him like a rag doll and almost took Cams head off in the playoff game?

Thought i was the only who noticed that, kalil is a shell of his former self not worth almost 10 million dollars against the cap for one more year when larsen was steady in his absence. Its a no brainer to me to let him go.

There is absolutely no way Kalil is cut! Fans my want him gone for the savings, but you don’t just unceremoniously kick a team leader to the curb like that after he stated this will be his farewell tour. That’s a quick way to lose the locker room and lose any trust and goodwill management has with the players.

He also seems to be making the same mistake many on the huddle do, and that’s thinking  of Shepard as primarily a wide receiver. That’s not the case. He was signed to that contract for his special teams ability...he was only going to get the chance to get on the field as a wide receiver. Really, he wasn’t brought in as anything more than another Bersin, basically a #4/5 receiver at best.  He pretty much only played as much as he did because of injury, not because it was the plan .

You don't pay a dedicated special teamer the money that Shepard is making. We absolutely expected him to make an impact at WR and a big part of selling him on coming to the Panthers was giving him more of an opportunity at WR.

Oh... and he was tied for 86th in the NFL last season for special teams tackles with 7.

Of all the players on that list, he's the easiest decision IMO.

Cut them all.

Id honestly do this if I were the new GM being hired. All of them make too much sense.

Ryan has a rediculous cap number and has been very often injured for the past two seasons, I dont want to pay a dude 10 mil if theres a high chance he wont even be on the field for half the season. Hes going to be gone after 2018 anyway, why not make get your new center in the works now instead of later? The new C we'd most likely draft wont be as good as a healthy Ryan but he will be young and cheap. If the new C is even servicable and can start 16 games then I'm in.

Stew is obvious, hes 31 heading into next season and his performance has been declining over the past several years. Draft someone like Kallen Ballage , Royce Freeman , Bo Scarborough, Josh Adams, in the mid rounds and we'll be just fine. Given recent rookie RB trends we'd probably even improve the run alot.

CJ and Shepard should be automatic cuts based on performance. Wouldnt pay them any more than vet min and even that is stretching it.

You guys are totally disillusioned about coleman . He was far and away the worst player in our secondary last season. Practically ever big play down the field whether it was a long run or a long pass, he was getting humiliated , getting caught out of positions , taking horrible angles, whiffing on all sorts of tackles, getting TDs scored on him . I'm totally sick and disgusted with his performance. Id keep Adams on the cheap and cut Coleman's scrub ass.

Id do what I had to do to resign Norwell. That way we have 3 young stud Olineman (Norwell, Turner, Williams), and possibly a good young C too to make 4. That would only leave us to needing to find a franchise LT who we could draft this year or in 2019.

Not at all, his spotty play IMO seemed a bit obvious, just gotta hope it was due to the injury . The new GM definitely needs to sit him down about a paycut. Paying him 10 million for the product we got out of him last season is awful.

I really can't understand how some couldn't see how bad Coleman actually was. Adams wasn't spectacular but he was far and away alot better than Coleman. Adams issue is him damn near being 40, Colemans is skill based.

Absolutely this. IF Kalil is on the roster next year, it needs to be with a substantial pay cut.
