LaCanfora: Ten value free agents

If Seferian-Jenkins has *really* gotten himself sorted, I wouldn't mind bringing him in on a prove-it as a potential heir apparent to Olsen.  Someone with knowledge of him needs to be involved in that decision.  If he's gotten over his problems . . . he has all the physical tools and with Olsen to tutor him?  He could be really good.

Trey Burton (Eagles TE) should be on that list and looked at by the Panthers. Only 26, made plays whenever given a chance, excellent on special teams. Just a really good around football player.

Eagles will probably try and keep him but I'm sure he wants a bigger role in an offense and he won't get that with Ertz in front of him and not sure he would here either (at least immediately) with Olsen. Got a feeling a couple of teams will be willing to give him starter money / role.

Austin Jenkins— liked him in the draft, like that he’s clean. Yes.

Jensen, maybe help with Ryan Kalil gone? Maybe

corey Graham— better than Munnerlyn, brings a Super Bowl ring, mentor ship, and Phili system info— yes

Those 3.

afterwards I’d want Joyner or one of the other free agent safeties,  and I would want Sammy Watkins.

i know,.. tall order.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
