Why is the sale of the team taking so long?

He's talking about the sale of a minority share of the Titans.....

Even so, I was just bringing up an example with the Titans. He wants to argue semantics, when the original point I made, which answers his original question, it that the process takes time.

Let me just clarify I know that the actual “sale” will take time. It’s not like some guy is going to waltz in, throw some money down, shake hands and bam, new owner.

I should have made it more clear that I am just wondering why it is so quite. The sale of a sports franchise is usually a pretty big deal and often times publicly reported. Maybe the NBA is different but I am basing my opinion around that since way more NBA teams have been sold in the past 5 to 10 years than the NFL. Something like 10 to 3.

Take the bills for example. Trump wanted to buy the Bills but was out bid by the eventual new owners. This was very public and trump would often tweet about it. (What a surprise) I would say P Diddy is a close comparison to this but Diddy doesn’t have anywhere near the money to be taken seriously. The only other person to come out and say anything is Felix Sebates and he won’t say who the actual buyer is who heads his group.

tldr: Yes I know this will take time I am just wondering why it is being kept a secret. Shouldn’t we at least have some statements or something from legit people who want to make a bid?

Only a 3rd of the team is being sold and it is not for controlling power of the team. I doubt many people would want to spend 500+ million dollars and have no control over what they just purchased.

Incorrect. It has been announced since almost the beginning that the WHOLE team is up for sale. Not just Richardson’s part.

I was referring to the Titans. Someone mentioned that the titans have been up for sale for a few years now. Only a third of the Titans are for sale and it is a non controlling third. So pretty much they are looking for a very large investor.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
