Hurney flew back from the Combine to tell J-Stew in person he was released.

If you don't know that he didn't treat everyone with respect there is no discussion to be had. And I am only interested in Hurney 2.0. the rest is ancient history and by most accounts he is doing things differently and better. No need to rehash his past just like discussing Belicheck and Cleveland.

That naivety. That’s what I’m talking about. We could go 16-0 this year, or we could go 1-15 again.

The fact remains. Ignorance will not win.

edit: Incase you don’t understand. Why do you think they interviewed three African Americans.

Tell me right now.

What does ignorance have to do with treating people with respect and dignity while trying to win a championship? They aren't mutually exclusive. The truth is I don't know why they interviewed anyone for the job. They only had to say we are letting the new owner choose the new GM.

Setting aside the other stuff, to the point that the Panthers flouted the Rooney Rule in the GM process, would you disagree?

Oh, I definitely agree that whole show was a facade and quite shameful. I’ve already stated that in previous threads. 3 good dudes pretty much interviewed for nothing.

I love seeing the hurney haters rage because of him being classy and respectable.

This isn't a source of rage.

It could be considered kind of unnecessary, i.e. why not just wait until after the Combine, but that's not "rage".

Agreed. Makes us look tone deaf, and frankly kinda stupid.

Have said before, regardless of what happens in the coach and GM spots, a lot of the people in the offices up there probably should be polishing their resume' right now.

I mean, does anybody seriously think Tina Becker stays on as COO with a new owner?

thank god the panthers organization respects players but we also coerce women in the office to wear jeans bc it appeases mister to walk up to their desk and ogle them

Just my opinion, but beyond all the other BS that has been going on with this franchise, I think it was the right thing to do considering what JStew has meant to this team over the years. That doesn't negate my strong opinions on other team related matters, it just affirms that Jonathan was a really great teammate who deserved a face to face interaction at the least.

The Gettleman4life fans going around mucking up every thread have become exactly what they have railed against for so long. Log out for awhile and go outside dude.

No. He could have done that while he was in Charlotte. All it says is going for a RB in the first round. This is an exlempary example, why Hurney should not be GM.

Even if he isn’t it, says he’s trying to play a game. Not win a league.

Two kickers. Two kickers. How did that work out?

It does not say anything about an RB in the first round. It says that he respects Stewart and what he has meant to this franchise.

I don't even know what this means.

And the two kickers worked out fine. One made it to the pro bowl, and the other did not take a roster spot from anyone who would have been playing at that point. Why are people stuck on the two kicker thing? It made absolutely no difference either way. It is just something for people who only see skin deep to complain about.
