The vikings arent dumb for this. They were a game away from the superbowl, the guy they want hit the market, the cap went up 10 mil, and it looks like theyre making a move. Some of you guys think its smart to be frugal for frugals sake. Spend the money and get your guy. Keenum aint winning any superbowls.

Is debatable whether Cousins is worth spending that much money for what might be only a slight upgrade.  Having a healthy Dalvin Cook might help them more than Cousins will.

As you said...they were a game away...they already have a top notch qb...insane move, especially the guaranteed part...cousins is not that much better than kennum

I mean I understand the logic but what other holes do they have (besides remmers)? Did keenum become good all of the sudden or do they just have a great system with good supporting pieces? The latter is more likely.

I don't know why you guys are so surprised.  Cousins has put up solid numbers for several years. Plus, at least since Alex Smith was signed,  analysts have been saying that Cousins may be the highest paid QB ever.

So,  yeah,  contracts may be "getting out of hand," but it is what what it is.  That's the cost of a quality QB these days (Approx 30 mil per).

Morons.

Sounds like a Dan Snyder move.

Spielman can be pretty good. He can also be terrible. I've seen both ends of the spectrum in his history with the Vikes.

From what I've seen, I think he works pretty well with Zimmer.

    • Got to give some credit to the coaching staff on these. You can grab top talents but without good coaching, they just fizzle out. We've seen that a lot around here.
    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
