The point is, the Eagles got their young QB weapons, and it worked.     You fix the issues you have in FA if possible, and they won a SB.    Though like I said, I agree you don't give up everything but sometimes you have to look past bargain bin trash and get a proven player.    Look back at the past 15 years and our WR's we've given Cam and our QBs...... it's pretty terrible.

Well to be fair, when Cam was on his rookie deal we had good success with building a strong overall team from a CAP perspective. A lot of these teams dropping big contracts are doing so with QBs on their rookie deals. Or just not $21M tied up in one player.

What if Ted Ginn didn't want to come back to Charlotte? It takes two to tango, and he wanted a better-throwing quarterback.

i think if that guy says it 100 more times he thinks it might come undone. but yes, i think he likes his passes in front of him so he can catch and run.

yes, yes we do. look at all the kickers and screamers on this message board. we also have the most babies.

Yeah biggest babies. Look at other teams drafts when they draft a QB, they load their drafts with weapons. We didn't draft a single offensive player until the 7th round during Cams. We have not given Cam one single legitimate WR during his tenure here.

we don't want to spend over $10 mil in free agent on top WR FA. We don't want to spend 6-8 mil on the next tier WR FA. We don't want to use top picks on wide receivers. So the team isn't willing to do anything, but expects different results. Pathetic.

As far as I can tell that isn't what happened. We made him an offer and he got a better offer from NO. We refused to budge and didn't think he was worth it (lol) so he took the Saints offer.

Cam's deal right now is a BARGAIN though.

I didn't hear any of the sort, Ginn loved it here, would have stayed, I mean he came back after Arizona.

Steve Smith

He didn't draft Smith.    I think the realistic answer is actually Lafell.     Hurney SUCKS at drafting WRs..... that's why we need to look outside.

Steve Smith

apparently that was a tense moment in the war room

hurney knew that it takes two to tango, and he wasn't sure if steve smith wanted to be here.  utah is a long way away from north carolina.  but they turned the pick in anyway, and they made the phone call.  it turns out steve was thinking the exact same thing; he wanted to come to carolina, but he wasn't sure if carolina wanted him there.  then him and hurney said "it takes two to tango" at the same time and they both laughed uproariously.  it was truly the start of a beautiful relationship.

It's going to become more important to have two-way players to save on the cap. If you can get guys like Bradberry to play WR and Smith to play CB, you're solid. Works at the high school level.

I actually enjoy this alt-account, keep up the good work.
