Greg Olsen Retiring for Broadcasting Job?

Greg has an inherent gift for broadcasting, but if I was him, I don' think I'd pursue MNF over any other Sunday broadcasting gig.  I'd worry much more about the job security with ESPN considering all the layoffs they've had and the amount of times they've changed the MNF broadcasting since they've had it.

TE in this draft just became more likely as Olsen may retire after this season

should have drafted a TE in 2016 or 17...cause we all knew Dickson wasn't the answer, Greg was old, and it would have been nice to get a young guy in to learn from him while he was here (Since it seems he wont be on our coaching staff)

Cool for him though! Cant hate on a guy that kept his head in the game ( of life) on his shoulders while playing football

A source close to Olsen expects the three-time Pro Bowler to be playing for the Panthers “this season and beyond.”

Olsen informed Panthers officials in recent months he planned to audition for ESPN and FOX during the offseason for experience for “down the road,” according to a team source.

Gruden made $6.5 million per year as ESPN’s highest-paid, on-air personality, according to reports.

My guess is that he's just using this as an opportunity to get some experience with interviewing for a broadcasting gig.  MNF doesn't have the same cache it used to, and he could probably get a more lucrative opportunity if he waits a year or so.  In fact, I'd bet the NFLN would be all over him if he just gave them the word.  I think he'll actually have his choice of in studio host, calling games, or really whatever he wants when he's ready to make the move....probably for any of the networks that cover the NFL.
