Bucs trade for JPP

Meanwhile we sit here with no secondary and could trade a late pick for a corner but our GM would rather convince the fanbase that having a defensive line matters the most. We will be giving up a lot of big plays this year and drafting a top secondary player is still going to be prone to mistakes.

what corner do you want for a late pick?

Giants now have over 40 million in cap space allocated to the D-line this year.

  • 17 Million to Vernon
  • 15 Million to Pierre Paul
  • 9.6 Million to Harrison

and they only have 1 staring caliber DE on the roster.

Damn

Giants were probably gonna cut him next year to make space for OBJ and Collins. Good move for them to get something for an underperforming high paid player.

Bucs are hoping the can get the best out of JPP and can get rid of him easily next year of it doesn't work.

1 yr in tampa for big $$ while the giants get royally hosed for yrs

no love lost for either team, but agents are the scum that is destroying teams with ridiculous guaranteed contracts

next league contract players are gonna be shut out by owners for a long time to fix this

the giants got hosed the day they drew up that contract for him

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
