I like Moore. Not at 24 but in the 2nd definitely. And I do like Gallup too. He and Washington are guys I've had my eye on.  But Ridley is the guy in this draft. If he's there at 24 you run to the podium with his name on the card as fast as your nippleshorts can take you. You can argue Moore has higher upside but I think it's pretty close. Either way, Ridley's floor is way higher and I think he's a #1 from day one. Moore is too raw for us to consider at 24 in my opinion. No matter who we take at 24 he needs to be a day one immediate impact player, and I don't think Moore, or any WR other than Ridley, fits that bill.

I somewhat agree here...If Ridley is there you get him unless Jackson is still on the board...but I doubt either will be when we pick.  Christian Kirk, wouldn't be a #1 but he would probably be able to compete in the slot over Wright. The problem is we have a mini log jam at the slot position... Wright(alot of sleeping on this signing), Byrd, Samuel (midseason), Shep (If he lasts, although ST contributor), Duke (Never know how he may have progressed with a full offseason). WR is a need but not as much as the secondary IMO. The run on WR & RB should happen in the second round. Either way, we have the potential to walk out of this draft with 4 starters, if the stars align.

Also, DJ Moore is special...as far as upside goes. Along with Miller, Gallup and Chark BUT I really could see Hurney grabbing Pettis just for his special teams ability alone... Just seems like a Hurney pick.

I agree.....i should have added if there is a player WE love at 24, we take him,.  Like your trade up scenario as well.  I meant this as an option if there are 6-10 players we REALLY like still on the board, we may want to consider trading back. I also don't particularly like giving up a 5th year option, so we would have to like the deal.

A few things.

First: I don't know that I'm necessarily going to pass on a receiver with a higher ceiling in favor of one that has a higher floor.

Secondly, some are giving Moore more credit than you seem to be giving him. For example, Matt Harmon (the Reception Perception dude) advised in an article that I read recently to not be surprised if Moore is actually the first receiver taken. I don't necessarily think Moore is as raw as you think. He needs to bone up on his routes run to convince people that he can consistently play on the outside, but he has good hands, is good at YAC, and creates separation. He is devastating on the curl route, which consequently is the route most run in the pros according to Harmon. As an aside, remember Norv said something to the effect that he would let people do what they do well and keep doing it.

Third, I'm not so sure that Ridley is a quintessential number 1. I see him more as an Amari Cooper or Davante Parker type, which is good, but not necessarily a go-to guy every week. He has been comped to Greg Jennings. I think he has the potential to be a playmaker anywhere, and may indeed become the number 1 guy here if we were to draft him, but don't downplay Funchess. But I don't even think we necessarily need a WR1 as much as we need another legit target for Cam to throw darts at.

That's just something you have to weigh. Say a guy's floor is solid #2 WR and his ceiling is just solid #1 WR. And another player's floor is bust and out of the league and his ceiling is best WR in the league (i.e. Green-Beckham). Not saying this is the case with Moore and Ridley at all, just that you have to weigh it all. And I don't really buy into "ceilings." I mean every time an undrafted player turns into a stud there is an example of a guy who every single team thought had a ceiling way lower than that. Whether it's due to physical testing, or whatever I don't really think any player has a true ceiling. Any player at any point in their career can continue to get better no matter what physical traits they have, so I don't really buy into the notion of players having ceilings. Ridley or Moore could become the best WR in the league, that's certainly possible.

The route running is the huge difference for me. Ridley runs crisp routes and will immediately be able to get consistent separation. I don't agree that Moore is at that point yet and I'm not sure how close he is. We'll see but Ridley is definitely more pro ready in that aspect. I expect Ridley to go first and well before we pick and Moore to go early 2nd, but we'll see and I wouldn't be surprised if it's otherwise. Anything can happen in the draft.

I don't think you're giving Ridley enough credit. He's not a Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson coming out but he's got potential in everything you could ask for in a true #1 WR. If Amari Cooper had better hands and could stay healthy he'd be one of the best wideouts in the league. Ridley doesn't have the same drop problems so if he becomes a Cooper type then that would be damn good for us. I don't really see Ridley being similar to Jennings. He's way more explosive. He reminds me more of a Torry Holt or Marvin Harrison. Whether he gets to their level is obviously the question but he's got that style of play and that upside, which would be perfect for our offense and Cam.

If you look at the last 10 picks at #24 it’s interesting...all of the defensive players taken have been incredibly underwhelming pros. Guys like Darqueze Dennard, Peria Jerry, William Jackson, Bjorn Warner were all taken. The offensive talent oth has been pro bowl  guys...Chris Johnson, David Decastro, Dez Bryant

Ridley reminds me of TY Hilton. I like him a lot I think he’s going to be the best immediate pro out of all of the receivers.

A guy like C Billy Price or T/G Connor Williams would also be in play at 24. Price could play guard this year and C next year and Williams could play G this year and LT or RT next year.

I believe Price is injured. So he'll be available in later rounds.

Minor injury and good prognosis so he will probably drop out of the 1st, but probably gone my mid second
