Tidbit from the New York Times cheerleader story

Funny to see how you have no politics or social conscience whatsoever aside from the rabid and increasingly incoherent defense of Cameron "Wonder Woman" Newton.

don't talk about social justice and then turn around and demean a man by comparing him to a woman as if that's supposed to be a bad thing, thanks

makes me wonder how you talked to your players behind closed doors, to be honest.

I have to admit if the team was paid that much, and each cheerleader only received a 100 bucks to go dance at someone's house, they might have a legit point.

Fwiw, I have no opinion on whether they should keep them or not.  They are not essential to game day, but they are a pretty decent marketing tool.  But yeah, they should get a little more of the haul.

I don't labor under the delusion that every penny I make for my employer goes in my pocket.

I'm sure he demeans the players on madden all the time. Luckily for him, they can't report him

If they were to get rid of cheer leaders all together, that would cause a huge contreversy for the NFL. Especially in today’s times.

i agree it would be best to rid the roles if they are not going to pay them appropriately.

The nfl would go under scrutiny for being a male centric non profit.

It’s a sticky situation, and until it becomes more than just tweets and articles written during the dead time of the season, I’d expect zero changes.

As long as the line is around the corner to be an NFL cheerleader, they will continue to be paid peanuts.

Same for police officers, EMT/Paramedics, firefighters, teachers, etc......

Little boys grow up wanting to be a policeman or firefighter.  Hence they barely make a living.

Policeman don't make much because they work for the government. They regularly reduce their requirements to attract recruits because of shortages. This is what my police officer friend days.

They don't make much because there is very little "demand" for them, same with the military.  People line up to take on those jobs, as dangerous as they may be.

Pay will increase, or job requirements will decrease.

If not a single woman showed up to cheerleading tryouts, and the owner of the team really wanted them, they will have to pay more and more until they start showing up.
