With Worley done, the 2016 draft looks like one of our worst ever

NE, despite their success, really is not a good drafting team. Outside of 2012 with Jones and Hightower, they've drafted many busts without many hits in later rounds either. Their success is due much more to cherry picking FAs that fit their scheme cost effectively and having the best coaching and team specific game planning in the league. It would be admirable if Belichick weren't a cheater.

Perhaps, but the point still remains.  The majority of picks never become consistent starters, even if they are picked in the second or third round.

Also, if this really was the worst draft in our history, then we are very good at drafting.

I was saying this a couple years ago. DG went on an ego trip after our Super Bowl. You can't cut one of your superstars, have one of the worst drafts in franchise history, then try going the cheap route yet again to fill your holes and also not improving hardly anything after a Super Bowl year and then expect teams not to adjust to you when you have that huge target on your back. DG royally fuged us that year.

The funny thing is replace "DG" with "Bill Belichick" and you have people praising how smart he is

That's how it looked every year with Gettleman and they wanted to crown him the best GM we have ever had when he was here. So glad that fat @ss is gone.

EXACTLY..... He is great at destroying a team in order to rebuild however the building supplies he chooses rarely pan out. He needs to redo his draft metrics and strategy.

1. Vernon Butler
2. James Bradberry
3. Daryl Worley
4. Zack Sanchez
5. Beau Sandland

The only two left on the roster are Bradberry and Butler. Butler has done next to nothing, and Bradberry is... fine. Worley was never that good, Sanchez is on the practice squad, and Sandland never played a down for us.

This is just after two years and it's this bad. Butler might be gone in a year or two, and Bradberry isn't even a given for being a long-term starter either.

It's hard to say it, but yeah that looks like one of our worst drafts ever.

What was 2015 like? Thompson, Funchess, Williams, Mayo and CAP. Not bad, all still on team but G-man also traded away six picks that year. Six picks. But he got good value there with core starters and some serious role players.

I guess everyone has a bad one now and then.

2009 and 1998 were worse, I don't see how this is a debate.

2009

2 Everette Brown (traded a first in 2010)

2 Sherrod Martin

3 Corvey Irvin

4 Mike Goodson

4 Tony Fiametta

5 Duke Robinson

7 Captain Munnerlyn

1998

1 Jason Peter

2 Chuck Wiley

3 Mitch Marrow

4 Donald Hayes

5 Jerry Jensen

6 Damien Richardson

7 Villami Maumau

7 Jim Turner
