Green Bay has Kevin King and he's 6'2/6'3. But Alexander and Jackson are better than he is and they took him early second last year after trading down.

Completely forgot about Kevin King, I remember hearing he was preforming pretty well last season.

Signing DJ Moore in my opinion is writing on the wall for Samuel. I've been warning people his injury was not close to healed.

Moore compares to Samuel?

Not sure I agree with that.

Samuel still has time to show he can be a mainstay on offense.

Do you have any actual intel on this?

Because giving up on a 21-year old kid who ran a 4.31 and amassed 1600 yards and 15 TDs for Ohio State just 1 year ago is not someone I'd give up on after 1 year.

The first pick of the second round in April's draft, King has missed two of the past three games with the ailment. He was mostly bad in coverage as a rookie, allowing a 102.9 passer rating

This was when he was placed on IR. He did not have a good rookie season. Constantly out of place, and never adjusted to the system. I'm interested to see what happens with him.

Hiring better secondary coaches to bring them up to speed would be a nice step too.

I don't believe for a moment that it's coincidental how as soon as Steve Wilks stepped away from directly coaching the secondary (and Richard Rodgers and Curtis Fuller took over) things started going downhill.

Totally agree. I just wish Fuller didn't do this so close to off season activities as finding a replacement outside of "in house" would be difficult. I read on CBS Sports this morning that they are considering Rodgers for the position which I'd rather chew my left ankle off than to trust him with the secondary. I remember the disaster that was Special Teams when he was the coach. Ron Rivera is loyal to a fault.

Their skill sets are the same. Neither has proven much in the NFL. Only difference is one had a horrible injury and the other didn't. Also if you thought Samuel was going to be 100% why not draft a guy that's tall, fast, and runs good routes?

Our passing defense was better in every statistical category other than interceptions in 2017 than it it was in 2016.

Yikes. I didn't know he was doing that bad

1 is a full time receiver that can run the entire route tree, and snatches the ball out of the air with his hands.

The other was more of a Swiss army knife, and likes to make easy catches look difficult.

Plenty of differences.

True, they aren't at the same place developmentally, but I do agree with Snake in that there are similarities in what they do, and more importantly, in the role they will have in the offense.  Both are athletic guys that thrive on taking the underneath throw and turning it into a big play.  Samuel was used more as a runner in college than Moore, but their general styles are similar.

With that said, I also think both can play inside and out.  And while neither was used a lot as a deep threat, I think both have the ability to be dangerous downfield.  To me, both are versatile receivers that can be used in a multitude of ways to keep the defense off-balance.  So, I really don't see an issue with keeping both going forward.

Both are used in the z position in this offense so no difference at all in their roll. Only difference is ones hurt and ones not.

Just about everyone in the league wants to “take their chances” against our secondary.

Jackson and Gaulden will be nice players for us. It will take time, but together they should be a nice starting point to rebuilding one of the worst secondaries in the league.

that was supposed to be worley and bradberry. yet here we are.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
