A theory on the team sale (that you may not like)

It's not guaranteed that he'd cheap out when it comes to contracts, but I think everybody would go in with that expectation. Given his character, it's not exactly a stretch.

Have said it before: People who didn't like Dave Gettleman are likely to absolutely loathe David Tepper.

Aint nothing wrong with that, Rich people are rich for a reason.

If I was a Millionaire I would still ask for Water, with 3 Lemons.

I would still ask for the Kid Meal Chicken Tenders from Logan's, it is the same thing but one tender less. But 3$ cheaper...

Bro - never order lemon in your water at a restaurant. There were studies done awhile back where they tested lemons in water from various restaurants and half of them were heavily contaminated with human feces. If you're ordering 3...well the odds aren't good for you.

Sorry - it's my mission to get the word out. All I drink at restaurants is water and I deserve poop free water damn it! We all do!

So, the wait staff contaminates them, because your cheap... right on.

I lean more towards Navarro, but let's stop with the cheap, restaurant thing that Felix mentioned about Tepper. They were at the #1 rated restaurant in Miami. I imagine that the bill at one of the top rated restaurants in Miami can go over $1000 AND I guarantee that it doesn't have a senior discount rate. I think Felix was just trying to be funny in saying that Tepper is frugal.

Edit: Just looked at one restaurant and they have an "A5" New York Strip for $195 on the menu so yeah...

I told myself from the get go that I wasn't going to get attached to one candidate because it would be awful if someone else won, but it still ended up happening anyways. Navarro should be the owner by now. fug this good ole boys bullshit of trying to force a certain person in to the club via nepotism.

that's what it's all about

So Felix Sabates was interviewed on WFNZ today and was asked a few questions about the team sale.

While he "officially" can't talk about it, he still did (as usual) and in the process, said something that some folks here probably aren't gonna like.

Actually, a few things...

His first comment was that two of the four potential owners (he still includes Rubin) would "definitely" prefer to build a domed stadium. We know Navarro prefers an open air stadium, so obviously he's not one of the two. And as before, he mentioned the Carowinds location and the need to make money on parking as part of the rationale.

Dome opponents won't like that, but that's not the real issue.

Sabates also mentioned having dinner with David Tepper in Miami. He said that Tepper wanted to meet at a certain time that seemed unusual to him. After he got there, he asked why that time. Tepper said it was because they could get a senior discount.

I’m going to go ahead and stop you right there. Billionaire that go to restaurants that have senior discounts don’t exist.

Here's my question: Do you want another JR "golden boy" that'll just run things like JR would or someone new and unfamiliar with direction from the NFL? I want all things stripped of Richardson on this franchise. He's held it back for long enough. And #1 would be getting rid of Hurney. this idea of being pittsburgh number 2 is annoying.

You realize to a billionaire that would be like you ordering off the Burger King value menu and using coupons and a senior discount right ?

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
