The worst kept secret in sports is the worst kept.

Anyways, David Tepper already has his plans for how he wants Carolina to function. He envisions an organization mirrored like the Steelers.

Like or dislike? Discuss.

Nothing new there. Mr. R said the same thing. This team has been trying to emulate the steelers since the onset. Just without the success. (Super Bowl wins)

I disagree. You can hate the Steelers all you want but the bengals and ravens are constantly making the playoffs. Sure they may have some bad years here and there but overall they are pretty good. Yes the browns do suck there is no argument there.

Because the AFC sucks and someone has to go in. They can never beat New England. They lost to The Golden Calf of Bristol. If Denver or Baltimore are having one of their good seasons, Pittsburgh shits the bed. The AFC West is going to be lights out this year and we may finally see a team matter that's not Denver, New England or Shittsburgh.

I guess this means were not signing Cam, right?

I'm curious about that too.  Tepper is a value investor won't overspend on players. So it will be interesting to see what happens. Will have a good idea after next year's draft.  If we take a QB Cam will be gone.

The man is worth over 10 billion dollars.  I don't think anyone can say that he doesn't know how to win.  Winning is exactly what this team needs.  For all the negative people, open up your eyes and look at his results and all his success.  What makes you think he will not be successful?  What makes you think he will be ok with mediocrity just like our last owner?  What makes you think he can't win in this environment?  He went from nothing to 10 billion.  My money is on David Tepper to not just want to be successful like the Pittsburgh Steelers but to actually be a successful, winning franchise just like the Steelers.  I am excited for this change in ownership.  Go Panthers!

I'm going with May 25th as his first big interview. I'm assuming he'll be at the owners meetings May 21-23, maybe some sound bites there. The 24th is the last day of our first OTA session, assuming he'll want to be in town for that. Then a formal interview on the 25th. Make sense?

Your idea of recently is ten years ago? That franchise overpays aging players and tries to build through the draft. The AFC is garbage and part of that problem is them. I fuging hate the steelers and their fanbased. The absolute worst in sports. I don't see how this is news b/c JR wanted this franchise to be the steelers as well. I was hoping to get out of that mantra.

The steelers consistently make the playoffs and have won super bowls (multiple) with their method.

Yeah, I'm ok with that.

Richardson modeled the panthers after the steelers to begin with. Soooo...?

Tepper is not Richardson.  Richardson failed miserably at modeling the Panthers after the Steelers.  I honestly don't care who they model after.  I just want to cheer for a consistently successful franchise.  What we have now is hope of something different and better.  So we can at least celebrate that.

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
