PFF Says the likes of Dak Prescott, Marcus Mariota, and Tyrod Taylor + 2 more are better running quarterbacks than Cam

Even though Cam amassed more yards than all of them on the ground? And also has more career rushing yards than all of them.

In general, people are going to be down on cam until he proves he can be a consistently efficient passer. I know this isnt the point of the thread , but in general people's main arguements against Cam being one of the top 10 QBs is that his passing efficiency his been extremely erradic in the past 2 seasons and they view 2015 as a fluke/outlier because he hasnt come close to that performance since then.

maribusta, dook prescott, and tyrod "benched for nathan peterman" taylor aren't even viewed as better throwers. only one one this list who is is russell.

How can a QB that leads the TEAM in rushing not be considered the best, not everything is an analytic/stat. Some things are just common sense. If I'm not mistaken Cam also led all QB's in rushing yards and TD's, and currently holds the record for QB rushing TD's in a season set in 2011....

PFF is nice when you want some data, but the way they grade is asinine when you start to actually look at the results ON THE FIELD.

Ask any defender in the NFL who the best running QB is and I'll bet a paycheck its Cam.  Need 70 yards to ice a game?  Cam.  Need him to fly 8 yards over motherfugers to score?  Cam.  Need a front flip on the goal line?  Cam.  Juke out 7 defenders in the back field then bulldoze for a first down?  Cam.  HE HAS CARRIED THE GOD DAMN TEAM FOR 6 fuging YEARS LAYING IT ALL ON THE LINE.  idk why this makes me so mad.

I think you all are going of Cams yards and not seeing what they're talking about. Under Shula, we ran Cam... A lot... As the primary runner, so there's where the majority of his yards come from. I think ,IMO, his article is referring to running as a passer, aka, scrambling when a play breaks down .I could be wrong, but I never we're homer goggles and assume everyone is trashing Cam

The stats are only for 2017. While he may had more yards, TDS and attempts he didn’t lead in Yards per attempt. Other things to consider are:

how many fumbles each QB had, how many negative yard plays he had and how many kneel downs he had which does affect YPA.

Majority of Cam's runs are designed. Majority of the other dude's runs were scrambles.

Makes sense that Cam wouldn't be as "efficient" as the other dudes by certain metrics because he's getting the hard, in between the tackle yards for his team.

I'm not butt hurt. You shouldn't be butt hurt. Stop being butt hurt.

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
