I hate to see it go away, but let's face the facts: Richardson's actions caused him to be removed from the league and made him a disgrace. His actions put the statue up there and his actions will be the reason it is removed.

Had he just been the guy he appeared to be as a public persona, he could have retired, sold off the team and that statue would be sanctified through the years. He just wasn't that guy, not even a shadow of him and now it's best to just let it slink off to the shadows along with the man.
