What the

 

Dude cant block

Cant catand the reason why TE was such a big need this offseason.  And why we got Thomas.

 

Yet we bring him back on meaning we have to cut someone useful so he can sit and warmup the bench.

we probably dont make the playoffs last year without Byrd. We probably lose to the Packers without his 2 TDs and we probably lose to Tampa without his kick return TD

I'm okay with that.  I'd just like a better option than Manhertz. And I really hate the thought that activating him now could cost us someone else.

I'm pretty sure we're gonna use the IR designated to return on Williams. He has to be on the roster for 24 hours before we IR him though. If we keep Amini too, then that means we are kicking 2 other lineman off the team while we already have Matt Kalil and Sirles who are both suffering from injuries already. Keeping Amini makes zero sense. I hope Rivera doesn't put loyalty over actually putting together the best roster possible, but his past judgments don't leave me hopeful. If the worse actually does happen, I want Rivera out.

He hasn't even practiced, we could've stashed him for another month, and he's now gonna bump somebody of quality. 

 

Completely nonsensical rushing him back. 

Gotta love when Rivera plays favorites and when "his guys" don't even need to practice or play any preseason games in order to have a spot on the team.

      I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.

      I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.

      I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
