Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel.

We're darn near anorexic at multiple spots. Feels like no matter what we fix, there are still going to be issues somewhere.

It's as if they should've taken OL and Safety depth more serious in the offseason

Gotta think Tepper is looking at an entirely new coaching staff.  The leadership here is totally ridiculous right now.  That we have not made a move at safety is unacceptable.

I've been a Rivera critic and I'm well aware of his flaws, but it's fair to argue that he was more successful (including an insanely good season in 2015) with a different GM in charge.

I've utterly given up on us ever actually trying to address the safety situation as long as Rivera is coach. We just don't give a single fug about the safety positions. I like plenty of things about Ron as our head coach, but his defensive philosophy regarding the secondary is one of the major things o disagree with and I feel that the NFL is ever evolving to a more and more pass happy offensive approach while we seem hell-bent on playing 1980s defense.

Mr Scot, I would fire everyone in charge and start with Hurney.  This team will go no where with these clowns running things.  How in the hell have we not looked at any safeties out there?  Fuggin unacceptable.

I would love to hear Hurney or Rivera once just admit that they have screwed us at the safety position and have perpetually devalued it.  Even if it changes nothing, I want to hear them admit this gross negligence. Our last line of defense is a fuging joke.

So my hope beyond hope, my completely not based on evidence take is that Hurney and Rivera are putting a small patch on a large rip and with the bye next week want to take that time to find a safety and be able to work out the details without rushing into a signing or trade for just one game. 

Again this would be a smart move. However, is this what our FO is doing?
