poo my other team is Clemson so I'm good either way...like how you talking about NC college FB when it's a Basketball college state whereas SC actually does have a SEC team(yea they aren't good but still in there) and OFC Clemson.

I blame you for our defensive line problems.

In my opinion doesn't give all of our rookies a fair opportunity to produce.  Good stats but most here understand that is the exception in spite of the norm.  Besides, who is going to play TE if Thomas is not there.  Injury gave him the opportunity.  But keep playing with stats.  Do you believe he got full potential out of McCaffrey last year.  I don't.  He continued to give the ball to an unproductive and old Jonathan Stewart.  So your stats don't change what I believe is the philosophy of our head coach.  He favors vets and always will irregardless of production.

So Rivera doesn't let our rookies be given the opportunity to produce.  Unless they are given the opportunity, and the stats show they produced.  And then the stats don't matter.  Because even though they were given the opportunity to produce.  And they produced.  it doesnt count.

Am I on the same page?

Dpoty threads are different than scheme and how a player is used threads.

Most people during the draft would've wanted Oliver and not Jackson but one guy has 3 ints and is bringing attitude to a unit and the other can barely get on the field. If Ridley was here we'd still be playing the vets over him

So why are you discrediting Ridley yet giving praise to Jackson?

Cmon bro lets not discredit what he is doing. He is competing his ass off over there. Dude is playing behind 2 good vet WR's yet he is standing out. You can say it is scheme or whatever fact remains Moore has less competition and still can't see the field.

I have a hard time believing the coaches are sitting him because he lacks talent. Maybe Moore is not picking up the offense as fast as Ridley is? Im not trying to downgrade Moore as a player, im just saying lets be real Ridley looks like the better player so far and he has earned it.

Why can't we just be real and stop trying to make excuses for Moore?

Honestly Torrey Smith is needed as sad as that may sound. He is our only legit deep threat right now and we need some with the potential to take the top off. D.J Moore hasn't proven to be a legit outside recivers in preseason against 2nd and 3rd stringers. Moore is a better slot then outside receive at this point. Torrey Smith sucks. If Samuel was health then there would have been a legit argument of him starting over Smith.

Who's discrediting anything that Ridley has done? I haven't knocked his production to date.

All I'm saying is if you flip Moore and Ridley, they would both be in the same pecking order. Moore would be number 3 in Atlanta and Ridley would be number 4 here. It's less top in competition but if you've been penciled in the top 3 and your team runs more 3 wr sets then you'll see the field. poo our staff has a long history of playing vets above better talented players all the time.

Only difference is that they probably wouldn't have Ridley learning 3 wr positions here, since we didn't view him as movable of a piece.

If Ridley was here

He'd be riding the bench too

Because he's a rook and Ron has a hard on for vets

Its that simple.  Moore is going to be a stud.   See how good Jackson has looked? Remember back to camp when Moore beating Jackson daily on the reg and people like @Jeremy Igo drooled over how he is the best looking rookie WR to put on a Panthers uniform?

Remember last week when he finally got in and got a chance.  He took a long one to the house.  Heck even on that last hail mary attempt last week at the end, Cam looked his way instead of the Funchess and Smith who were blanketed for 90% of the game

Moore is going to be fine.

    • I like what Freeling brings to the table all around. If he is willing to put in the work he has an opportunity to be one of the better Tackles in the league down the line. Hunter Brazzell and Hecht are all premium additions but development from our staff are the key to unlocking them. Hopefully Lee and Wheatley will provide much needed additional depth to our secondary. Beyond that it's important not to get too caught up in draft grades. Many drafts over the years that turned out to be really good were not fawned over with praise. While some that were ended up being historical duds. Panthers fans ought to know this as well as anyone. In conclusion...
    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
