My confidence against intermediate offenses is pretty much gone

We need the pass rush to provide a pass rush. QBs have all damn day against our D right now. The Atlanta game wasn't on them. The Falcons game planned to get the ball out quickly to take advantage of our CBs constantly playing off, but Eli could've read a book today in the pocket. I don't care who you're playing or who you have in the secondary, if you give a QB that much time he's going to eventually find someone open.

This defense is going to get smoked by the upper echelon teams in the NFC. If we can't contain Eli Manning and the horrid Giants offense, I can't even imagine going against the Rams, or Brees twice again. We are literally going to have to score 35+ points to win in the playoffs. This is what happens when you "hire from within" instead of going out and getting a proven DC (it's Mike Shula all over again, only on the other side). Eric Washington is getting schooled.

we just barely beat a potentially 2-14 team...

Atlanta, Saints, Pittsburgh this D and that weak ass zone coverage is going to struggle. I can't even think of who else will kill us with slants

Relax. We get TD back this week. That will fix a lot.

Dont put the blame on us, blame the panthers for how they're playing defense. If we dont start playing at-least physical in the secondary, we're going to get killed. Eli Manning just killed us, its embarrassing

We're not getting enough pressure without the blitz.  Run defense is really solid but we need the pressure.  If you don't get it with our zone scheme, you're f*cked.

Love it when we blitz, it works.  Did we run any blitzes today?   If so, not enough to be noticeable.   Eli is easy to beat when you pressure him.  We are so conservative and you would think that would prevent the big play but we give up big plays constantly when we play conservative zone D.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
