Official Panthers at Eagles Gameday Thread!

Here we go boys and girls.

It is gut check time.

Will the Carolina Panthers rise to the occasion and make us proud while cementing their contender status?

Or will we see yet another incomplete game, poor coaching decisions, and an under preparedness that we have witnessed already too much this season?

One thing is certain, either way there will be plenty to discuss.

Please don't embarrass us. In fact, how about shocking us with a dub today. Is that too much to ask?

Usually this would be the type of game Rivera would have this team pumped for a win. Because he poo his pants on game planning the week before going into an "easy" win. But, I just thought about it Friday and I do not believe this team is good enough to overcome Rivera and his disparities as a Head Coach. Eagles win 27-20. Tepper, hire an young, offensive minded, head coach for this NFL that won't allow Defense to be played!

I like us today...got a feeling we'll go like we did against the Pats last year.  We may play down to last year's Bears and this year's Giants, but we aren't scared of anyone.

Eagles have a better defense than the Pats last year.

It's early, but it does feel like the season is on the line here.  Like Jeremy said we're either showing we're a contender, or we're showing that mediocrity is our ceiling.

Also, we HAVE to start winning on the road again. Dropped 4 or 5 road games in a row it seems like going back to last year. Philly seems like a nice place to start reversing that trend.

    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
