Should we trade for Calais Campbell?

Here is an article from Catscratch that makes perfect sense. I think back to the Superbowl run, and how Jared Allen helped this team apply pressure and he was picked up by a trade. The defense was awesome with Allen, Short, and Norman. Our window is somewhat closing so should the panthers make a play for a top-tier DE with experience?

He would significantly improve our run defense and depth for sure. I dont think he's typically know for his pass rush but last year he exploded for 14.5 sacks so he's definitely someone worth exploring.

I mean, it would make sense. The only issue I see is that it's another 30+ year old DL. A trade for Campbell is still just a short-term band-aid. We desperately need young DL talent. Those Ealy and Butler busts sting.

Laugh if you want, but I think Tepper could be watching the Huddle. I mean he did put the logo midfield to satisfy the Huddle faithful. What's the chance that he is reading this forum and telling Hurney to go make the deal now! LOL. Maybe the Huddle could will the trade into existence? LOL

Who say Jacksonville is even looking to have a firesale?  Didnt they just sign him last season?  Although it would be awesome, this one is a stretch for me.

Of course it is.  There’s only one “sane” solution right now at DE to significantly aid our Super Bowl odds without giving up a TON for an old guy or a young bust.  No one gives away one for free, even a guy that’s two years older than Hardy in Campbell.
