Cam had a 99.4 QBR during his 2015 MVP season

His QBR for this season is sitting at 97.4. 2013's 88.8 is currently his #2 season.

In 2015, he threw for 3837 yards, 35 TDs, and 10 INTs while completing 59.8% of hi spasses and running for 585 yards and 6 TDs. This year, he's currently in pace to throw for roughly 3650 yards, 29 TDs, 6 INTs while completing about 67% of his passes and running for 675 yards and 7 TDs.

Long story short, Cam Newton is back in MVP form. The TDs are trending down, but the efficiency is trending up.

Agreed.  Plus, Cam always gets better down the stretch so its possible those numbers get even better.

Unfortunately there is no way he has a chance at MVP unless Mahomes or Brees fall off, but you never know.  He's still got 2 games against Bucs and 1 game against Falcons.

And this is with us having already played the defending super bowl champs and the NFL's #1 defense entering the week...  i expect the numbers to trend up going forward.

I also hope KC hits some adversity and Mahomes slows down so that Cam gets serious consideration for MVP this season.

he could win MVP again if Mahomes, Brees and Gurley was not playing out their minds

Yeah will be tough with Mahomes and Gurley but you never know what'll happen second half of year. Wentz was a shoe in last year and got hurt... Mahomes may hit a wall which is very possible when looking at the Chiefs' history under Reid after hot starts to seasons. Gurley as a RB will be tough to win it in today's day and age.

    • frank, that ball was very catchable where it hit his hands. I don't even think he bent at waist until after he dropped it. He actually slows his pace to position himself to catch the ball. That will never be a pass I'd blame on the QB.   NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-54-54.mp4
    • https://overthecap.com/position/left-guard   Lewis is the 9th highest paid Left Guard in the league. I bet it was higher when the deal was done two years ago.    https://overthecap.com/position/right-guard Hunt #3 highest Right Guard   There is a tab in the upper left portion of the graphic that allows looking at the different positions.
    • It was a great play, but a better catch than throw. The TE boxes out Moehrig for position. Jumps to catch the ball. Catches it and turns 180 degrees while he's still in the air. Comes down and toe taps to stay in bounds and lunges for the goal post. That first part where he boxes out Moehrig for the ball is huge. If he doesn't do that and simply fades back to catch the ball (this is why Bryce doesn't trust XL), then Moehrig likely undercuts the pass for a break up or INT. Stafford trusts his receivers to make plays for him. Here I slowed it down so you can see it. Great play but amazing catch and score by the TE.  NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-45-32.mp4 NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-44-37.mp4
