 Kalil’s cap hit was 6.9M this year: Not exactly crippling to build this years team. Not when you consider we had to eat 18M in 2013, 27M in 2014, and 15M in 2015(plus 20M to CJ so we could cut him following year). 

 Beason alone had 13.3M in dead money. Plus two RBs signed to big contracts when the rest of the league wouldn’t pay one. 

  I hear there’s a spot available for the night shift on the oldies station in Charlotte. I’m sure taking a playoff team to tear down mode will get a teams attention...lol

If not this year, then he'll be gone probably next unless he has amazing off-season. I feel like Tepper is the type of guy that wouldn't make a change without knowing there's going to be a net gain. Hurney had an okay off-season, so maybe if Tepper doesn't see a direct upgrade he'll keep Hurney another year.

Listen, I know Hurney has done well since he came back. But I totally expect Tepper to clear every FO person that was here during the Richardson era out. This is why I was uncomfortable with Richardson people selecting who got hired before the owner was announced.

Tepper has made it obvious that he wants a team that uses analytics to gameplan and draft. It's pretty clear to me that what we have is not that.

That's why I clearly stated "just like all other Panthers/GM combos". My argument is that Gettleman was no better that Hurney or anyone else, contrary to what a lot folks around here believe.
