He’s done. He’s the reason we have zero deep passing game. His shoulder was destroyed in late 2016.

I agree with you that his shoulder is done, but I wouldn't say Cam is done.  He's still a top 10 QB.

This is the result of having to rely on Cam Newton to carry your team every week.  Only guys who can do that every week consistently are Brady (well, maybe not this years old as hell Brady), peak Rodgers, and Brees.  He's just having a bad game.

Which is why we should have won when he was balling out but alas.

He's a shot fighter.  It's okay.  Happens in the league all the time to former greats.

It can't be ignored any longer what the team could do with 20+ million more in cap savings per season, especially if you add 1-2 first round picks, and I expect a forward looking analytics team to consider it.

i've wondered how much of the emphasis on the short passes is that his shoulder isnt healthy enough to throw the deep ball consistently. 2 of the INTs today are on the OL getting beat and Cam getting hit as he threw and one is on the receiver tipping the ball up for the defender. that out route pick was all on Cam making a bad read.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
