Who is least interested in Funchess on this play?

Hate to say it but this is true.  I think Cam makes up his mind in the huddle where he is going with the ball.

I suspect the receivers all know this.  Not excusing the jogging, but after a while you get tired of putting on your best move knowing there is a 0% chance your QB will  be glancing your way.

I realize this is a knock on Cam so everyone will immediately assume I must be a racist (I'm not).  Cam is incredible, is freakishly big, strong, athletic, and durable, and he brings other dimensions to the QB position that literally no one else can.  But making split second reads after the play has started is the most difficult thing a QB has to do and I don't think this is Cam's strong suit.

So basically you're suggesting he's too dumb to make split second decisions?

lol - I can't believe it took you this long to pipe in.

I believe QBs are among the brightest athletes on the planet.  But different people think at different speeds.  Just because it takes someone 1 second to react to a situation as opposed to .8 seconds doesn't make them dumb.

The fact you went there speaks volumes.

Apathy tends to happen when no one is within 10 yards and you don't even get a look.  Love Cam but he has history of not seeing wide open guys, every once in awhile it has to supremely frustrating for the receiver as well.  Of course Cam may be influenced by drops and effort as well.  Why bother looking or throwing to someone you don't have top confidence in.  Either way, it's a really embarrassing clip.

You're backtracking.

Even those here that have been calling out wide receivers like Funchess haven't questioned his ability to understand routes. His lack of effort at times for his size sure, but not his intelligence.

Own your words or maybe next time keep them to yourself.

Play design maybe for all to be decoys except one. I hardly see any wrs on our teams signal to Cam that they are open or ready for the ball like I have on other teams. Our players just run and half the time not even looking or expecting the ball. I have seen Olsen waive his hand but no one else. Funchess told me all I needed to know last yr when he half effort to catch that ball against the Saints in playoffs. If u are that hurt dont play sit out and give someone else an opportunity. As Ron says missed opportunities and these are the days of our lives. Play the music!

If Shula was still our OC then there would be 7 threads with this GIF about how he’s an idiot calling plays with 2 receivers in the same spot on a deep route. Instead, a thread gets started about Funchess for some reason, who clearly isn’t intended to be a part of this play. Meanwhile others who do address the receivers running into each other are blaming the receivers for running the wrong route.

Again, I’m not a Shula fan...it’s just really funny seeing the double standard in full effect on the Huddle. Shula and Norv are a lot more alike than people care to admit...Norv just runs a lot more reverses and is generally more conservative than Shula if that is even possible. The difference is we have receivers with YAC ability so we can actually utilize more of a short pass game.

Your equating reaction time to intelligence.  Why?

obviously the ball was never going to anyone on the left side

Agree with this. Moose was just talking about this yesterday. Said that WR's even have something called the "brother in law" where if the WR is cool with the CB covering them (aka "brother in law"), they will even let them know the play is not coming their way so they can both take it easy and jog it out.

It's not a Cam thing, it's not a Funchess thing.....it's just the way it is.

Dont even waste time on that crumbass. He is putting words in your post merely to suggest most of the fanbase is racist. Been going on for years. Boring. But it was cool for him to take any opportunity to hate on CMC last year. He is a fraud. The only person who suggested Cam is dumb is Dred.

That is interesting and I dont doubt it. But for the spirit on competitiveness, it is a shame.
