Alright. I'm done with this thread. The people on Twitter are much more civil. They were interested in this info. You guys can go back and forth on Sportrac, Football Profiler, and Pro Football Reference if you want.

If you found people ignorant enough to think you know WTF you are talking about, you better hang on to them for all you got. Sorry if you can’t handle being told you weren’t 100% right?

This is a nice resource, even if the idea of paying Matt Kalil a dime more than we absolutely are being forced to sure does leave a bad taste in my mouth.  Also, I believe Van Roten is under contract until 2020. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/greg-van-roten-11215/

Also, I wouldn't mind resigning Love if he's willing to sign another short-term, low-dollar deal, which I assume he would. Especially if we get rid of Poe and Butler.

I really want to spend our early draft picks in the trenches, both lines need an influx of talent.

There is only ONE reason to designate someone and that is to use the space immediately. That’s why you only get one a year. Otherwise, why would you need to?

I’ll say it in a more tender version for you next time Oprah.

You catch more flies with Honey than Vinegar.

And that's not the only reason why you would use it, you would also use it to spread the hit out over two years as opposed to one, which is why we would do it.

I'm pretty sure Matt Kalil is done as a football player, not just as a Panther.

Paying him a single dollar over what we contractually have to is a complete waste. He's never going to see the field again.

What a horrible fuging signing.

You get to do that on every June 1 cut. So why do it early if not to use the money early?

Kalil saves $8m as a post June 1. I think he and Short should be the two post June 1st designations. I’m going from memory but aside from the large cash savings it was $20m in cap savings in 2019 and $16m in 2020. Smith and Searcy were my two others giving us an easy (not much negative impact if we get a good DT in draft) $58.5m with the few million in rollover. Captain I’m still on the fence about. Yes, I know but damn we need enough CBs just in case. Hopefully, Cockrell is healthy.

Short would be a tough cut this offseason either way. I just don't think there's enough cap savings to justify it unless there's additional off-season reasons. He's much better cut next year.

*Tyoing on this fuging phone is a nightmare. Make a typo and it won't fix poo, type the right word and half the time it changes it to something fuged up just for the helluva it.

Greg isn't the same at all. Even if he gets the surgery, u feel like his foot will still not be 100%. I would love for him to stay another season, but Ian Thomas has way more potential.

Don't be surprised if ESPN/Fox make Greg a deal he can't refuse this offseason. A Jason Witten type situation could happen.

Post June 1st is $13m in savings for 2019 and some in 2020. That’s a lot of reasons plus huge cash savings. $36m in cap savings and about the same or more in cash savings if we move on from Kalil and Short, which we can do.

I don't think that's accurate. I think his contract would be pretty much a wash this coming year as a post June 1st cut. That's why I'm saying to keep him for next year.
