What's with all the 9-7 playoff talk?

Why do so many folks think that 9-7 is going to make the playoffs? Seattle has H2H over us and are playing their best football right now. They are favored to beat Minnesota at home this weekend and have 2 gimmies remaining on the schedule with San Fran and Arizona. I see 9-7 as worst case scenario for them and that would require a Minnesota upset, which is another direct competitor unfortunately, AND KC to win in Seattle with no hunt, which isn't a guarantee. Seattle is unreachable in the playoff race IMO.

On to Minnesota. Sure, they may lose in Seattle this weekend, but do you really think they're going to lose at home to the Dolphins or against the limping Lions squad? Chicago at home would be a tough game in theory, but unfortunately the Bears are most likely resting their starters come week 17. I'm feeling a 9-6-1 finish for the Vikings. I guess we can hope for a 8-7-1 record, but I just don't see it.

Does anyone else secretly hope we get blasted by the Browns on Sunday so we can put Cam on IR to rest him up for next season and be done with Rivera once and for all? Time to get the last remnants of the Richardson era in rear view if you ask me. And this is coming from someone who's about to board a plane for Cleveland in 24 hours and spend almost a thousand dollars of hard earned money to go support his team.

"Hope is what you have when all other things have failed you,” he said. “Where there is hope, you make room for healing, for all things that are possible—and some that are not.”

There are 2 wild card spots.  Right now the 6th seed is sitting at 6-5-1, with 4 games to go.  The absolute best they can finish is 10-5-1.  Chances are they will lose one or two more games, as will Washington (which may lose all 4) and Philly (who plays the Cowboys, Rams, and Texans).

So yes, 9-7 will prob take the 6th seed.

Why would you want to quit when we are 1/2 game out with four to go?

It’s not about wanting to quit.

It’s about being realistic: nothing should give any of us hope of winning another game except blind optimism and the fact we always have won in December (save for 2001 and 2018). Neither do enough for me to think we can win again until 2019.

Hoping we get blasted by the Browns actually is literally wanting to quit.

    • He was always the guy who didn't care about practice or being prepared. That works when you are a freak athlete and aren't in a position that has to do those things. What made Dion work as an athlete is what makes him a terrible agent. Yeah he has always been a pooshow. His kids probably think it's normal but Shaduer just paid the price big time. Started the video and it's already Dion bonkers lol
    • This is also why in a way, I don't want T-Mac to get to 1,000 yards, because I think it means XL or Coker took a step back. While maybe that would be good for T-Mac's growth, I have absolutely zero, in fact, less than zero concern about T-Mac becoming THAT guy for us and being a Top 10 WR every year with legit Top 5 potential. And even though I have faith that XL and Coker can be that 2/3 combo next to T-Mac in the future, I have far more concern in the two of them getting there than T-Mac being that #1, so their growth is "more important" to me this season than T-Mac's, in that sense. Thielen's presence will suppress the numbers T-Mac/XL/Coker put up, but his presence is what is best for Bryce's growth, which is more important than anything with the WRs this year because we need to know if he's going to be that franchise QB for us. If Bryce already proved himself to be that guy, Thielen isn't even on the team this year and none of this is a debate, then yes, T-Mac would HAVE to put up 1k this season.
    • I've gone back to buying Panthers merch for the first time in a couple of years. Have some optimism for the first time since we drafted Bryce, which quickly met it's downfall.  Don't fug this up, Panthers.
