This right here is a valid argument and worth discussing. Congratulations on being one of the few that can articulate a dissenting opinion enough to warrant further talk. You’re a champ in my book.

I wouldn't say all that. Because If we go back and look at those seasons individually,The numbers would suggest that isn't cams fault and saying winning is a QB only statistic.

Wins are a great stat for MLB pitchers, because when you get down to it, it’s a 1v1 game.

Same cant be said for football. There are a lot of moving parts that you need to look at.

That being said the original argument remains to at least discuss the panthers record with Cam at QB.

From that point you can dissect and assess kudos and blame across the board as needed.

The intelligent discussion and debate of the context of that is what matters. Without it we are ignorant clowns.

This season he has missed throws to close out games against

Washington
Seattle
New Orleans
Detroit
Cleveland

It's a little tough to put a vote of confidence on him when he is inaccurate when he needs to be on point. Previous seasons is one thing, but this has been a trend going in the wrong direction lately.

It's probably still worth noting though that only one of those games was pre-Steelers.

That's the game where a lot of people believe his shoulder was re-injured.

Seems like a lot of people continue to focus on the times he comes up short for the sake of confirmation bias instead of taking a truly unbiased lens to it.

Thats what it all comes down to at the end of the day. Since the night he was drafted it was “he cant throw” “hes not mature enough” hes selfish” “hes not smart enough to read a defense”

he’s debunked all those theories and it drives people nuts, add to the fact that he is the most unapologetic player in the league that everytime he does something wrong it opens the flood gates for the “i told you so’s!”

his rookie year was the biggest evidence of that. He proved everyone wrong on the field that they had to analyze what it meant by wearing a towel over his head

I’m one of them. As someone that doesn’t watch college ball outside of Stanford season tickets, I remember exactly where I was when Luck said I’m going back to school. I was heartbroken like are you shitting me?!!

Then we got Cam and he was unkown to me but I fully embraced him and have defended him against an onslaught of haters since.

It sucks to see a fan base turn on him when he was having a career year the first half and now something is clearly wrong and everyone is ready to move on.

But I guess it isn’t uncommon. When Peppers had 2.5 sacks everyone said it was because he was lethargic from aids from his gay lover because he was quiet and not a leader.

Its insane to me. People that are fans of a team would rather their QB fail and the team fail with him just so they can vindicate their own thoughts. Mind boggling

Those types of people aren't good fan. Hell, they probably aren't good people either. I'm sure they're just as awful and self absorbed in other aspects of their life.

I agree there's people that have their own agenda to destroy Cam Newton at every opportunity.

However, I also have to take into perspective what is best for the team as a whole. Whatever reason we want to come up with, the bottom line is that the Cam Newton we have right now is not good enough. The problem is two fold. One, he continues to force himself out there and be a liability either out of an expectation to play through injury or some sense of pride. Two, we have a head coach that has allowed this to happen whether out of lack of courage to bench a player that can't get it done or a sense of obligation to the franchise of this team.

Whatever the case, I cannot see any rational justification to allow Cam to play anymore this season. While talks of trading him is ridiculous, to not start having that conversation of a contingency plan in case Cam's problems are career threatening is a disservice to this franchise.

I agree. He is not right. Let him rest. So tired of Ron having Cam bail him out of a jam.

Basically, I understand both sides of the spectrum. It's all interesting and all, but I'm just waiting to see what Tepper has to say.

One thing that I would absolutely do, regardless, is acquire legit competition at QB. Personally, I think that it has gotten to that point. Not only has injury and how it relates to Cam's future become a question that requires an insurance policy, but maybe for Cam to actually reach that next level, he will have to be pushed.

And that's my thing. With another QB worth a damn in those situations, we just may win those games. It's like Cam has lost that edge. His legacy has surely taken a hit, and the only thing that will repair it now is a Super Bowl victory.

Sure would be nice to have a competent backup that would allow Cam to get his shyt together.

Guess if we had a competent GM then we wouldn’t have gone into the season with Taylor Heineken backing up a wh coming off shoulder surgery.

We’  a fuggin train wreck
