Andy Benoit Aims To Start a QB Controversy in Carolina

The team should bring in a high draft value QB to put into grooming behind Cam. Cutting Cam is stupid, we don't even have a wet noodle ready to replace him unless you are planning to tank the 2019 season and select a qb top 3. Get a backup with potential to be a future starter and revisit the question after next season when there's more information about Cam's arm in game situations.

Until then, Benoit needs to sit down, shut up, and eat a bag of dicks.

I'm confused. Benoit's post didn't suggest the Panthers take any action - he is simply wondering why the topic isn't being discussed more openly.

What exactly did Benoit say that was incorrect?

“I’m surprised no one in the media is talking about how Bill Belichick may be a lizard-person hybrid.

I’m not saying he is, I’m just saying I’m surprised it isn’t being talked about.”

Why isn't the idea of dumping Cam Newton (going into next season with Heinicke & Allen) being discussed openly?

Because it's stupid.

When you have nothing of substance to add to the conversation, "Because it's stupid" is the only way out.

Stay in school, kids.

Okay, I'll elaborate.

The Panthers may want to move on from Cam Newton. However, his successor probably isn't on the current roster, or in the 2019 draft.

So it would be stupid to cut him.

It would be wise to have a backup plan in place in the very likely possibility that Cam isn't ready to go at the beginning of next season. There are FA options that will be available to bridge the gap until the Panthers figure out if Cam is going to heal properly or not. I agree his bridge or replacement is not currently on the roster.

Stupid would be not having a plan in place if things go south. Ask the Colts and Dolphins how effective their plan B was.
