Of course not.  Not bad enough.  Even a monkey could see that defensive end was and is our biggest need, and our all time single season sack leader was and is available at 30 years old with the tread of a 25 year old, is loved and adored by teammates and coaches, etc., and the man obviously said no to the delight of the other 31, while felons Tyreek Hill and Frank Clark forge ahead to January football.

Look I loved Greg Hardy. He brought fear to all that opposed the panthers. The problem is that Greg like the white lady too much, both of them. Funny that the legal one is the one that got him. Either way it is a shame, if he could have kept his nose clean there is no telling where he and the team could have went. Unfortunately, He must now sleep on a bed of guns.

Yes, he wants to win.

The problem is that he believes we're capable of doing that with Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney in charge.

It's not a lack of desire to win. It's trusting the wrong people.

That kinda speaks on how good he is of judging people. We could be looking at a owner who will run the Panthers exactly like JR and be happy with the same results.

yo, i just want to say i loved hardy when he was here.  he is obviously mentally ill.  i hope he's doing something positive to cope with that.  i think the discipline it takes to fight without losing your cool or having an adrenaline dump will be good for him and his control issues.  before you bag on him too hard for drugs he was def self medicating.

Was listening to CBS sports radio this morning and they were talking about how football teams that consistently struggle to win probably have owners that either don’t care about winning or have so many other interests that they don’t spend much time focusing on their team.

So this made me wonder about Tepper. Dude is a multi-billionaire and has a lot going on besides the Panthers.

Was keeping Ron and Marty around despite their performance a sign that Dave is ok with never consistently winning?

Yes he wants to win ...

Tep has a sequence of decisions to make if he wants to win... This year he needs to skank hurney...Get a GM that will evaluate talent and coaching for next year...the following year possibly get a coach that is in line with his philosophy ... he cant look at just fixing the immediate.we have too many holes...its a building process but i think the major pieces are in place...Tep will have to say fk Appaloosa if hes serious...

Al Davis wanted to win.  Wanting may not be the key factor to winning.

No it does not mean that at all. He is thinking logically and giving a two time coach of the year and opportunity to have one more year being that we started 6-2 and then fell off after Cams health declined.

I wanted Rivera gone as well but honestly I like Norv, and I feel like we really can have a special team of we re tool this offseason on D.

Tepper has made it very clear that he cares about winning. He spend billions on the team and is doing everything he can to bring analytics into our plan and building a practice facility that’s one of the best in the league as well as upgrading everything to help out our players training and prep. Give the guy a break he hasn’t owned the teaM a full year yet and has made many improvements that the fans have been calling for, but now because he didn’t do what the huddlers wasn’t that means he does not care about winning.

With all that that being said if he fires Mick Mixon this offseason he will go down as the best owner in the league.

This .................. He went from amazing to awful because he kept Rivera and Hurney likely on the advice of football experts he trusts because folks here without a clue or insight into what is actually happening behind closed doors don't like them.

Jerry Richardson wanted to win. He just believed it was possible to do it with Marty Hurney running the team.

Having the desire to win doesn't help if you're trusting the wrong people.

3 winning seasons in 10 years?

How, exactly, does he bet wrong?

That isn't his legacy. So far under his watch we had a 7-9 season because our franchise quarterback got hurt and was ineffective. Hardly terrible given these same coaches and GM had us at 6-2 and vying for the division title until Can got hurt. Hardly a reason for Mass changes.

Because for every Sean mcvay there’s 5 other guys that don’t pan out and a few years in a row of coaching searches usually train wrecks teams for awhile so if you’re not damn sure of who you’d want to replace him then you shouldn’t

If the coach you already have is failing, what's to fear from someone else failing?

    • Yeah not taking that Burns trade was infinitely stupid. We seem to be finally righting the ship but, imo, our biggest issue since Tepper bought the team has been coaches and management having a poor understanding of where our own roster is at. Starting with that idiot Rhule drinking his own kool-aid and thinking he was going to come and take the NFL by storm with Teddy freaking Bridgewater. Could have just kept Cam on the last year of his contract and gone from there but noooo that fat slob had to feel like he was the big man on campus. First round wizard Marty Hurney who, for whatever his faults, has a freaking HOF track record with first round picks, wants to trade up for Hebert but fat fug Rhule says no. Then we kept Rhule for 3 years which is absolutely unbelievable to me and every single year he treated our roster like it was just one player away trading our draft picks for Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield who have proven since leaving that Matt Rhule was an even bigger idiot of a coach than we thought. We finally seem to understand we are a ways off and trade CMC, but then we don’t take the actual good trade for Brian Burns who was never better than a run of the mill situational pass rusher. Then we botch the self scout of our OL (and team) after Wilks, even though they were bad before Wilks simplified the scheme, thinking they can execute whatever the hell Reich and Brown were trying to do. So we win a couple meaningless games playing dummy ball and Fitterer thinks we’re a player away again. And nobody even considers that having the slowest receiving corps imaginable with Damiere freaking Byrd, who can’t even make it to the season before being injured and cut, as your only hope for speed, coupled with the worst pass blocking OL I’ve ever seen, might lead to titanic levels of disaster. The way Canales and Morgan have been adamant about constantly bringing competition at every position has been refreshing and made a huge difference. I was kind of worried that we had fallen into our old ways leading up to the draft with all the talk of defense only and worried that they might feel the offense was set. Very glad to see they were not complacent on that. My big thing now is I’m still wondering why Evero is still here. I can’t think of a single player who has gotten better under him, and the Broncos defense got better once he left. We’ll see.
    • really good interview that gives some insight into their decision making process in making up the schedules and the issues they run into with so many people broadcasting games now. also some interesting discussion on what they have going on and where they might be heading in the international games. vikings have 2 of them, btw. we might be seeing more of that.
    • wow i absolutely LOVED watching that.   will watch again...and again...and again.
