Not really

It was warranted by his play

Was a Stud RT.  True the probowl can be Skewed by fan votes etc.  But All Pro teams do Not.  So his 2nd team All-Pro is the telling part of his play, not the probowl

Wait...am I misremembering?

I don't watch, nor base any value on the Pro Bowl....but was Williams a Pro Bowler, or was he elected 2nd team All Pro by the AP tying with Mitchell Schwartz?

who is going to invest big money in a OT coming off a major knee injury? i mean other than the home team.

An incentive-laden deal is probable-even here.  I think this interview was his way of putting himself back on the roster to the Panthers, fans, and other teams.  IR is a lonely. quiet place.

So no pro bowl.

I can go back and look at his games again, but I do NOT remember him being great.

I didnt think he was bad.  And neither did many of the people who get paid big money to judge as well.  The AP isnt only putting him 2nd to Lane Johnson in the Entire NFL  at RT, if he was just avg or not that great

Would you also apply that theory to the recent interviews of Matt Kalil and Mike Adams?

Cause if so...

What makes me wonder....

I doubt Moton is moved to LT  or he would have been moved to LT this year.  However, if Moton can play as well at RT as Williams, then they may see  RT as an area where money can be saved, if only for a season.

If the plan was to move Moton to LT, it would seem they would be in communications with Williams--maybe?  Moton gives the Panthers leverage.  He did not give them leverage when dealing with Kalil last season--just a thought.

If I were his agent and wanted to wake the panthers up===maybe.  Adams was in a dark and quiet place this season--as was Kalil---but Adams was missing in action.  SO Your theory is correct!
