It's official: Thomas Davis is not coming back

I wish he would have just recognized it was about time to hang it up like Kalil, and retired. What else can a player prove? Hes already in the court of kings in terms of current or past players. Surely money can't be a factor after this many years. Beautiful wife and family at home. I just can't imagine a reason to move on to another team after this many years as a Panther only to play perhaps one or two more years and do that much more damage to the body, or have just that much more chance of yet another injury.

I don't see how keeping him here for one year on a cheap deal wouldn't have been beneficial for the team.

His play was perfectly acceptable, I don't get this decision from the team.

Ron Rivera cannot be trusted to sit veteran players in a support role. He has proven that time and time again

Reminds me of Fox in his last couple of years. I remember Rivera's  first conference on how he would play the younger players and teach them. That didn't last long.

This and his insistence on building an aggressive team on all phases only to constantly take his foot off of the gas are the two things that make me the most disappointed with Rivera.

Said it before: The guy who gave that initial press conference is not the guy who's been coaching this team since.

I liked that guy better.

Initial conferences can be deceiving.

Tepper led with the “Winning, Winning, Winning” line, only to watch his Hurney-built, Ron-coached team spiral downward on a near-historic trajectory.

Aaaaaaaannndd.......come on back another year, boys.

If you have to hand hold you head coach this much, should he really be your head coach?

I'm going to miss Thomas Davis. I got to meet him at a meet and greet in North Charleston and it was a great experience. Best of luck to him in the future.

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
