REPORT: Panthers will "go hard after safeties early in the 2019 NFL Draft."

A report is associated with news, in my mind.  This is one of a few thousand opinions.

the panthers have scouted 1st round safeties incredibly thoroughly since Rivera got here but the value has never lined up

Smokescreen.  D-line/ Olive is the focus. Although a ton of big plays happened against our safeties.  Even Ron said at the Super Bowl that it was the big plays that killed us this year. I’m just not so sure we can get out of the 1980’s philosophy.

Safety is not a priority in our scheme so I seriously doubt this.

We are going to see reports from a 1000 different sources about what we might or might not do.  

There are to many sports reporters in the world, and not enough news, so they come up with crap and make it sound like fact.

There will be good safeties in the second or third round. This year i feel we dont need to reach for one like Thompson in the first

I think this is a mix of safety is definitely a position of need/Panthers are probably talking to all the top safeties just in case our guys on the d-line and o-line aren't there at 16. 

Chances are D-Line or O-Line is the pick at 16 still. Positions are just too high of a need and talent is too premium in the first to pass. 

 

Now I wouldn't count out a small trade up in the 2nd to grab a safety we covet.

Then I believe it will be 2 safties, a DE,

and a LB in the first 4 rounds in no certain order.
