NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND..... just heard on Sirius that OBJ wants to renegotiate contract before he Shows up..

Pretty sure this isn't going to stop the deal from going through. Browns have the cap to renegotiate his deal. He's doing the same thing AB done with the Raiders. He wants his spot back as the highest paid WR. I can't blame him, he is younger and has more years left than AB.

...yea

a good roster that seemingly couldn’t win dogshit for 4 years before they hired him for whatever reason.

We didn't have a good, experienced quarterback after the 08 season. We turned it up when Cam hit his prime.

I'll start off by stating that DG's people skills are crap and the contract he gave out to Matt Kalil really fuged us over...

But this trade isn't even as close to as bad as people are making it seem.

NFL players, like cars, usually see their value depreciate once they've been taken off the lot.

OBJ was drafted with the 12th overall pick... DG turned him into the 17th, 25th (Peppers), and the 95th overall picks.

In comparison the Raiders drafted Mack with the 5th overall pick and they turned him into the 24th, a more than likely late first round pick in 2020, a late third round pick in 2020, and a late sixth round pick in this years draft; while also giving up a second round pick in 2020 (which will probably be high), and a conditional fifth round pick.

The only difference in the trade is that Peppers is essentially the additional first round pick in the OBJ trade rather than it being an actual pick.

On paper, the Mack trade is so much worse than this trade.

    • Meh. You don't necessarily trade a king's ransom for a draft pick, but you should strike when the opportunity presents itself. It's all about scouting and taking the BPA. You don't pass up on a viable QB---your guy who's just sitting there--just because it's year one to three and your team has holes.  Just build your team.
    • TE needs an upgrade. Ben Johnson obviously does Ben Johnson things, but Caleb Williams having Loveland was huge for them this year, not to mention the few Kmet games where he goes off.  But...where does that upgrade come from? How much money does Otton get on the open market, and is he worth it? Is Sadiq worth a 1st round pick when we have so many other needs?  Point being, I can't see us moving on from Tremble *unless* we sign Otton and don't see us drafting Sadiq in the 1st. I don't think Tremble is worth the 6 million number, but I think he's one of the "core" guys in the locker room that we'll eat the overpay to keep around this year.
    • I hated the trade to #1 but wanted CJ he is still the better player but after the success and he started going to the all white party's and dating Amber Rose( a atheist, even though he said he is a man of God) it did make me wonder if his head was in the right place. Seems he thought he had arrived and the work ethic slipped.
