What position in round 1 would make you furious?

My first thought was shortstop, but then I  focused harder--I  would go with RB or TE.

QB is the best answer.  It would mean Cam is now nothing  more than vegan cigar bar owner who is the baby daddy of a stripper's kids.  (Heck, even out of the NFL his life is  awesome--except  for the Vegan thing)

RB, TE, QB, probably even WR.  On one hand, I wouldn't be completely against a specific TE or WR, for example.  I just don't expect them to be there at 16.  And the next tier of players would be way too much of a reach.

Anything on defense I could live with.  We could just pick BPA and be fine really.  While FA went great (even if you hate the Smith 5m/y deal), and it shored up some holes any defensive BPA position would be great to the long term health of the team.

1st rounder needs to be a starter.  My biggest concern is we reach for a player for need.

If you reach and he bombs out aka Butler is can affect you down the line.

As far as the question is concerned.  I wouldn't blow my top over any position outside QB and RB and logically Kickers

Positions I would be happy about is DE, OT and Safety and possible CB if it is Greedy

Meh about WR, TE, OG, C, LB

There is a conundrum there. If they need to be a starter chances are it's a position of need.  And drafting best player might not mean they are better than who you have there.

I dont think self imposed draft mantras are very helpful.

Butler wasnt a need and didnt turn out to be the best. He was just a bad pick. If he had been a quality player and started after his first year then it would have been a good pick regardless of not being an immediate starter.

If a guy is depth in year one before being a 10 year starter you have succeeded.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
